Forum > Suggestions > Use same field in the DPC that is used in the sim. (this would depict zones more accurately.)

Right now the field in the DPC is narrower than the field in the sim. When the zones chop this field into halves, thirds, fourths and fifths, they're not showing where they are in the actual sim.

Examples:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1924627&pbp_id=1215286
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1924627&pbp_id=1214701

In both replays the SS in in deep strong third, which in the DPC is shown as being centered directly over WR2, which is where I put the SS. But when the thirds are stretched out to fit the wider sim field, strong third is suddenly centered 3 yards outside WR2 causing the SS to run towards the sideline instead of stand in his zone on top of the WR. This issue shows up in all the strong and weak zones, they're all 2-5 yards further inside in the DPC than they are in the actual sim.

Also notice that the zones move as the ball shifts hash marks indicating that the zones are fixed to ball spot, so there should be no problem showing there actual locations in the DPC.

Coordinators are extremely hard to find because the job is so hard to learn, at least bort could show accurate pictures in the DPC so this isn't one more part of an already steep learning curve.

This isn't about zone code, just zone display in the DPC.

Kind of, but if it was fixed to the field you would end up with pass routes going into one zone ran from one hash and and different zone from the other hash. That would be pretty maddening.
