I'd be a little worried about potentially splitting up the player base more.

Aren't preset AIs even simpler than Casual?

This. The preset AI's look good enough that people can use them in regular leagues and have a reasonable chance to win. So there's no need to segregate them.

I seem to recall somewhere (probably when dealing with people wanting iron man leagues) that they would not be creating any new leagues. For one, as mentioned above by bigtisme, it would dilute an already watery player pool. Also you would have to at least have 30 teams that would want to do this, which people may try but i think would find very uninteresting after a season or two.

Would be a decent idea back in the day when GLB had the user base to support it.
