this would allow us to just agree or disagree with suggestions. once a suggestion got a ceertain number of votes for it would go up for vote for all of GLB. if it got a certain amount of negative votes then it would be locked and after say 3 days of being locked. it would then be deleted.

doing this would limit some of the stupid suggestions in the forum. this would in turn save some time when trying to go through the suggestions and voting on the ones that would help the game.

Somehow I have a feeling I can guess the person who is the inspiration for this suggestion.

This has already been suggested and I'm pretty sure a mod/admin said to wait and see how the voting works in FFA/GD/TT.

If it's past that stage, +1.

I'd +1 it but it would just turn into the same thing you have in the current karma system forums- popularity contests. You already have a small number of people (couple hundred) who vote down every suggestion that goes up to vote now, even ones that can't even be considered controversial.

Even decent suggestions would get voted down/locked, not because of the quality of the suggestion but because of who posted it. And then people will pester mods to unlock their suggestion because it was voted down unfairly which will just either kill the karma system or will force mod's to have to become the "deciders" of good or bad suggestions, which was already similar to this NGTH "Having someone review suggestions prior to posting Catch said no"

So i'll give it a +0.1
Do it if you want, Hopefully if it were implemented there will be enough responsible people here to keep votes to the suggestions themselves, not against specific agents.

I completely agree with what you said the Karma system. it is based on the users actually being grown up enough about things to take it serious and use it as what it was designed. But I think the suggestions forum is a little more geared towards helping the game rather than just playing childish games.

I do see people that have a history of really stupid suggestions having a problem of getting things locked on them. but possibly that is a good thing if people would actually take the time to think some of these suggestions through. they wouldn't waste the time in even posting them. I mean seriously look at the actual active suggestions going on right now. how many would have been locked without enough time to actually discuss things.

I would be pleasantly surprised, if this were implemented, that people treated it correctly. Would be a great addition. I'm just not confident it would happen based on the overall general attitude to the way people behave in the forums. Thats why i wouldn't say don't do this. But i just don't have high hopes of it working out the way people hope.

I do agree bad suggestions and joke suggestions that clog up the forum are a problem. I'd even say that instead of locking, some posts need to just be deleted so they don't force good, decent suggestions or even boring/uninteresting suggestions could still be considered. Once a post drops below half way down the page, it's pretty much lost forever unless the OP remembers to bump it back up again.

Very much true on all points you made. and you are probably right there are alot of agents. that just don't have either enough respect or common sense to participate in a serious discussion. I know this is a game and different people find enjoyment in the game in different ways. but the suggestions forum should be a place where most of that childish crap is checked at the door. I personally mess with a few people just because they are fun to have a discussion with. and they have a history of making a ton of suggestions. most of which get no following at all. (yes I am referring to Yello1 ) but atleast the guy is trying to figure out ways to help the game. he is trying to make the game better maybe not good ideas from most others standpoint but he makes the attempt.

I just think the karma system could help reduce clutter and it would also save people some time. I know making a +1 or -1 only takes a second but clicking a little thumbs up or thumbs down is even quicker.
