this would allow for iron man and under ground leagues and whoever else to still do their thing without messing up the regular leagues

no special treatment or modifications, it would basically just be server space

this wouldn't be condoning or encouraging fracturing of the player base, it would just get those teams that insist on doing something else out of the way of everyone else

solves a lot of problems like MVP issues and 200-0 blowouts

the teams already exist and without a ban hammer, won't be going away. might as well give them some place to go without screwing everyone else up

We already have too many leagues as it is. Regular leagues should have the custom slots, DPC, and tagging gradually taken away. After that casuals should be merged with regular leagues. Peewees are dead as shit after rookie leagues were introduced so there's really not a need for that now either. We need to go back to one league type playable by all that have even the most general understanding of AIs.

Casuals and PW were added when the userbase was much, much larger. This game can't support more than one league. Time for the rubberband to snap back into it's original size.

completely disagree.

forcing everyone to play the same game would force more players away from the game. that may or may not increase participation but it would definitely be lost revenue. Not to mention, when the game comes out of beta, there bound to be a population surge.

not to mention one of the reasons the player base is dissatisfied and shrinking is because they are tired of these alternate leagues screwing everything up for everyone else

edit: btw... i played the game when all there was, was basically casual rules. it's a million times more interesting now. if it had stayed the same, there's no way I'd still be here

I think you have it backwards. The biggest reason people are leaving is due to boredom. I think much of that boredom is brought on by teams being so spread out as well as too many forums (public and private). You spread people out like they are at GLB now and the site looks much more dead than it really is, tbh.

I think non-boost leagues are pretty silly now that everyone has a free dot.

Its just 1 free dot compared to the many non-boosting

It's wiser to use that flex/RPs to buy CE for your free dot imo.

If leagues were able to be bought shit.......I'd run a boosting league instead or along with the current 1 at hand.
With a league of teams that stay within the same league for many seasons, comes fresh new possibilitiies.
Rivalries,Dynasties and Drafts to keep those leagues with a constant flow of players.

I'll stop now cuz I'll post a tldr type post on this topic if I don't

I agree with the first part.... it is because of boredom. Different types of leagues alleviate boredom, not cause it. If there aren't enough players to go around, then stop selling teams to every yahoo that comes along. Make sure there's enough players to support the number of leagues of each type, instead of uncontrolled growth. maybe drop 10 players off the max roster size while their at it--to close the gap between networked teams that can fill any size roster easily and teams that actually have to recruit.

If you and 31 other people buy a team for that one league it would require 1760 dots. That's just one league. How do you figure it's not going to further fracture the userbase?

Most of what the op suggested is on the NGTH list for good reason.

32 Teams 1760 dots for that league = a boatload of flex cost.
If 32 team owners committed to a league and created full rosters as alot of owners do the userbase would'nt change.
Thinking would.Think outside the box.
Not to say owners filling their own teams is the only option as the ILOF,League Underground,Ironman,Sandlot and 11 Vs 11 Leagues are confirming.

I remember people from casual and PW saying the same things. Now we have three shell leagues. Adding more leagues is like sending more trains to clear a train wreck.

On a side note: There is 0 downside to buying a League.

So creating a league that will require 1700+ additional players is not a downside?
