With the way the sim is currently, at some of the lower levels you see teams with 70 pass plays in a game and 7 rush plays.

It only makes sense that if a team is only passing like this, that the defense would catch on and adjust to the excessive passing (similar to how a defense would adjust if a team runs the same single play excessively).

I would think if you are 90/10 in favor of either passing or rushing the defense should be able to adjust (the GLB version of this being a penalty to the offense). I would think to avoid this penalty a team should target at least a 75/25 split after about 30 plays.

GLB doesn't need to institute a penalty for this behavior. Should be on the defenses to adjust properly.

We have, go watch a game with top Rookie or Pee Wee teams, blitz the line, drop 8 in coverage. That's the new defense because the pass game is sooo much better than the run game at this level. It's not a defense problem, it's a, the run is not useful on offense so people stopped trying to use and just pass, problem.

That's true too, and even with that, passing is still preferred over rushing.

low levels = high speed no agility = cant cut = passing sim with slants and screens. The only way to fix the early sim is remove auto level gains and prevent people from loading up on primaries skills right off the bat. Which i am pretty sure is NGTH

So... passing is both over-powered and under-powered at the same time?

I'm confused...

uh...is pee wee that much different that rookie? in most rookie games this season rushing--particularly outside rushing-- has been much easier than passing IMO

I don't see rushing being a problem on any of my low level teams. If anything passing is a problem - well, that's not really true - passing to actual receivers is a problem. Passing to the backfield is cake. lol

That said, I do think that some sort of defense read/vision bonus should kick in once a certain play is run a few times. A guy on defense that's trying to figure out what the play is and who has already seen it four times in the game should be able to do the "oh - that again!" thing. Conversely, a team that uses the same pre-snap "look" a lot but uses a wide variety of things coming out of that formation/look should probably gain the benefit of a defensive vision penalty. I'm not talking about huge numbers here - but enough to discourage using the same play 15 times in a game and to encourage changing up a bit to keep defenses on their toes.

There was another thread in here recently that talked about draws and play action plays. If the above were implemented, it would make those types of plays useful and effective, too. You come out of the I-Form 5 times and it's all rushes, and then suddenly you sneak in a play action streak and the defense will be on their heels twice.

Not really all that important either way - but if the suggestion is looked at, it should be a simple read/reaction bonus or penalty for the defense and some basic tendency tracking to assess the size of the bonus/penalty. <shrug>

So what all you -1''s are saying is that if a team comes out and goes 100% pass the defense wouldn't normally catch on to this and play better pass defense?
