There's so many things Bort could do with this,it isn't even funny...
But for the heck of it,let me throw ideas his way.

1st off....the game could be a creation of "Jockey's" and their abilities.
or "Horses" and their skills. Perhaps both?

2nd) Like Stadiums built here in GLB,Users/owners could build their own variation of Parks like Church Hill Downs,Lone Star or Oaklawn Park. (dirt tracks,turf,grass,etc)

Object of the game?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A)Create Horse: Build your horse to be a Champion!
Can you win enough races with your horse to be invited for a chance for the Triple Crown? (Kentucky Derby,Preakness & Belmont Stakes) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_Crown_of_Thoroughbred_Racing Can you join the likeness of
1919=Sir Barton
1930=Gallant Fox
1935=Omaha
1937=War Admiral
1941=Whirlaway
1943=Count Fleet
1946=Assault
1948=Citation
1973=Secretariat (considered the greatest horse that ever lived)
1977=Seattle Slew
1978=Affirmed

Train your horse to be a champion!
Your horse would have an assortment of skills & Abilities just like here @GLB.
You would train him and enter him into different races.

IF...you were to train and build a winning Horse as a User,you could earn 3rd) "Trainer"Status. (Something many at GLB believe they are experts in..lol)

This could allow you to be hired as a Trainer for other users Horses created. (Very similar to the Coaches idea that many here have stalled and stalled for implementation that dazzles me to no end)

4th) Create your own "Jockey"
Those who have no interest in training a Champion Horse or even becoming a Trainer by training a winning horse,have a different option.

They can create and train a Jockey.
You could train your Jockey with an assortment of Skills,to make him the best.
Also a Jockey would get to pick his Racing colors and combo.

And of course,awards/prizes could be earned by a Horse, Jockey & Trainer. (& Horse Owners)

So your options would be
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Create Horse & Train
(User becomes Qualified Trainer,if builds a champion Horse)
(Trainer can be hired by other Users/Owners to train Horses)

Create Jockey & Train
(Become a Legendary Jockey by winning)
http://www.horseraceinsider.com/Horse-Racing/Horse-Racing-Hall-of-Fame-Jockeys

Win awards using any character, by winning.

I gave you a simplified version of this idea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There could be Equipment for the Jockey's and Horses both to upgrade.
Race Parks can be built in so many different ways,plus concessions and many things. (Plus be named as well by user/owner)
A Trainer could have the ability to "Sire" other horses perhaps? Qualifications to do so

Anyways...So many things this game could bring to Bort.
It's basically 1 game,that branches to many different ways you could play and what character you prefer to use.

I didn't even mention the betting....
I know gambling is a no-no
But I bet there would be way to do it like our "League Survivor Contests"
Using reward points to put on Horse to Win,Place or Show plus having Exacta's,Classics,daily Doubles,etc as part of this. (All legal of course and no Red Tape worries..lol)

So watcha think?

because of the effort you put in... I'm going to go ahead and edit out the Bort reference in the title (which is normally insta lock).

I'm pretty sure this is NGTH (he's got too much on his plate as is), but I'll verify first

This would be an interesting idea. I'd prefer hockey though.

As a business model, once you coded it properly, could VERY EASILY be modified for NASCAR, Formula One just substituting jockey for driver, horse for car...even could work for supercross, BMX, drag racing, speed boats or whatever

Could even get very specific with "Jedi Pod Racing", "Circus Maximus" or any kind of racing simulation.

I'd personally rather see an MMA sim... the limited # of moves/plays would allow for it to remain a simulation but actually move beyond dots to view an actual semi-animated fight.

Could include international races as well

Melbourne Cup
Epsom Derby
Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe
Dubai World Cup of Racing

with penalties for travel, could also take into account the undulations of the track, right or left handed etc etc

So many variables

lol I like the idea. Would be funny if one person was the Jockey and the other a horse. You'd have to find someone to ride you...lawl.
