The Qb rating you see in the stat column is his passer rating and is not correctly identified. This is the QBR http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6833215/explaining-statistics-total-quarterback-rating

QBR is overrated. Look at Yards per Attempt.

EL.. The rest has too much conference / team variable.

Disagree. All EL tells you how effective you are at generating SPs for your player. You can have two QBs (or any other position) with the same Effective Level and if the points aren't spent wisely, one could perform much worse than the other. I would go with passer rating. The reason I say this is that if it is good, he is doing what he should be doing for your team, no matter the level or league.

Disagree, stats in competitive or weak conference mean nothing, a poorly build QB can thrive in the right division. You would have to compair the QB Rating of every quarterback in that conference, after 16 weeks, to make that a remotely accurate measure. EL on the other hand, especially with QB's, is going to be consistant regardless of other factors. Whats a QB going to really do to get a great EL and mess up the build ... no really. Unless they are dumb enough to cap throwing like third, or start raising all their no alg stats, it should at worst be 95% accurate judge of talent. I would venture basing of QB rating alone yields less then 60% judging accuracy.

For instance your QB Abby flamethrower , looking at your QB 2 seasons ago, if you judged rating, you might think it was a good QB. Look at the EL, and you see she's a dumpster fire, as her last 2 seasons have demonstrated.

The link you provided goes to a rating that has a low of 0 and a high of 100. One of the QBs on my team has a rating of 120. Obviously this rating isn't QBR. It's probably just his passer rating by the old system with a max of 158.3.

Agreed. While EL may not be a perfect measuring stick, it's much better than just going off of QBR. As Shraz mentioned in his post there are just too many variables that go into a QB's success; age, league, conference, coordinators, surrounding cast, etc.

That's the new QBR that ESPN came out with this year, it hasn't really caught on.
