EDIT: Obviously that was meant to be TEAM

is there any technical reason why not to do this (hard coded for 16?)

advantages:
-play each team in your conference once in 16 game season
-no more lame out of conference game
-2 more teams per league would allow for needed contraction of leagues and fewer CPU teams at some levels

disadvantages:
would need a bye game or non-conference scrimmage (would have XP as if a game were played)

how do you fit that into 40 days?

Better idea:

Have the non-conference game during Week 17 instead of Week 1, as it was in the early days of GLB.

Set that game to be based on conference standings through the first 16 weeks--the two first-place teams play, the two second-place teams, etc.

or don't count it for division standings

Anything that will affect xp is likely ngth especially since they just added the whole APD thing.

Try "logical reason."

Go ahead. Draw up your proposed 17-team schedule. Use teams A through P and show who plays who on which day.

i might be missing something on the math here, but wouldn't it be feasible with bye week for each?

with 17 teams in a conference you would still have a 16 game/week schedule

he is trying to suggest a way of eliminating the out of conference game

with this suggestion all teams in a conference would play every other team in their own conference

a lot of times there is kind of a cool conference rivalry that takes place, I don't want to get rid of that

but I do wish they took conference record first, and just used the overall record as a tie breaker

I like things the way they are. One non-conference game is minimal and it's just the luck of the draw as to if you play a good non-conference team, which I don't mind. If you are a top team, you shouldn't be afraid to play a top team in week #1 from the other conference.
