As some of you might have seen Satchmoa-n-Dizzy put together a spreadsheet that calculates the projected standing based on the games already played. I did run the numbers ofr WEPL, and here is what it looks like after week 7:

What's up with the rankings? How is Wembley in 9th place at 10-6 with the 8th palce team at 8-8?

what do the last two numbers mean?

As the headline says, these are the projected standings based on the currently played games.

And the last two numbers are projected points for and against.

Yeah, I get that. But how does a team get to be projected in ninth place with a projected record of 10-6 behind a team with a projected record of 8-8? Or for that matter how does a team get to be projected in second place with a projected record of 15-1 behind a team with a projected record of 13-3?

I just don't get where the rankings are coming from in Alpha Conference, that's all. They make sense for Zeta.

Good point, I did not actually look at the projected records yet, no idea why it messes up the order in Alpha, maybe I'll look into the formulas when I find some time for it.


Edit: Nevermind, found it, you can sort by different categories, and I had done a sort by points scored, it's corrected now.

1.5 MILLION points against South Texas? I know they're not doing too well, but that seems a bit harsh.

Thanks for running the numbers. Will be fun to compare with the actual results at the end of the season.

As I did the numbers on a european PC and copied from there I am almost certain that it is one thousand five hundred and some. No idea though where the fractions would come from, but I guess in those ranges the numbers get shady anyway.

Same as any rankings system thats not the actualy Standings...

This will be prtty silly until about Game 12... when everything is almost balanced out.

But Week 14 and 15 I think something like 80% success is possible, with scores with a 10 point range?

Will be good to see it this season, though.
