I am interested in building a hard hitting CB and I'm wondering how to go about doing it. Have any of you had a successful hard hitting CB? If so how did you build him?

Emphasize majors first, but then like most of these guys, you still want a good enough amount of spd/agi/vision in the end so he can cover. Would put almost all eq into spd, perhaps some in agi to get to a decent amount while you emphasize the HH majors like str/tkl with SP first.

use the combo archetype.
Tackling and Strength to 68, followed by speed to 81. Once tackling is capped, get it in your multi train and get it up 5 more times.
Agility to 74, Vision to 74, Stamina to 61, con and jum need to be softcapped at least, and get Jackhammer and MH as bonus SA's and work on those along with getting your coverage SA tree up.

Top one will end like this, bottom one will be similar but STR and TKL will be switched.

confidence : 6%
blocking : 0%
throwing : 0%
catching : 79%

tackling : 0%

Attributes:
strength : 84.1
speed : 89.1
agility : 81.24
jumping : 53.12
stamina : 63.4
vision : 78.12
confidence : 50.26

catching : 35
carrying : 8
tackling : 89.1

punting : 8

Top SA Tree: 3-3-10-1-1 (With CEQ and AEQ)
Bottom SA Tree: 8-8-0-0-0
Additional SA Tree: 8-8 (Jackhammer, Monster Hit)

Or you could high cap your majors, but for Hard hitters that strategy doesn't work as well and you'll end up playing a lot of ST's for most of your career. You could do this the other way as well where you start with speed, but then you'll end up putting a lot more points into Str and Tackling then you need to.

I'd start Speed,Agility,Tackling in that order of capping while taking speed to the 83-84 cap at least. You can always bring Vision and Strength up later but your main attributes should be the 1st 3 mentioned.

Speed is the most important attribute on all CB builds no matter the archetype.
