I wasn't left with much to work with this week there was a LOT of games I just didn't feel were worth writing about.
Oceania Pro League - Week 3
Oberon Bulls @ Prague Panthers
Both the Bulls & the Panthers have proved that they can win close and lose bad. Both teams are holding themselves back due to turnovers. Realistically speaking, although there's a TON of time left in the season, I think these are two teams that may end up fighting for the #8 spot in the playoffs. I'm beginning to lose faith in both of these teams, so they are really going to have to put forth strong effort to regain any hope in the eyes of Oceania.
Gold Coast Michelin Men @ SWAT City Vigilantes
Thanks to Brantford, SWAT City actually has me scratching my head. I really thought Brantford was the favorite in last weeks game, clearly I was seeing something that just wasn't there. But don't worry SCV, GCMM also has me questioning them. I'm glad to see they've won both of their games, but in both games they have duplicated a couple things. A lack luster running game and turnovers. They've won both of their games but against teams that I just don't think are that good. Did I mention they barely won those games? Had South Bend been able to turn 2 of their FGs into a couple of TDs, GCMM would be 1-1 right now. SCV performed horribly in their first game on the ground and as a result, they're 1-1 not 2-0. But who am I to question the fact they lost to the currently #1 ranked Zeta team? I'm the guy writing all this criticism that's who, so sit down and shut up, I'm not done yet. SCV has me wondering if they're worth writing about, but at the same time, so does GCMM. I'm looking for one, or even both of these teams to come out here and prove they are for real, win or lose. Brantford has pretty much lost all hope to appear in another write-up unless they start proving that they are not just a team that looks good on the cover of a magazine. So I challenge you GCMM & SCV, fix your running game issues and put up some numbers. Show us that you can make the top 8 in a playoff race.
Oceania Pro Alpha Conference Game of the Week
Buda Pests @ Tampa Bay Puganeers
Okay Buda, you never cease to amaze me. I'm impressed, great win against Banzai. TBP, I'm not impressed. AT ALL. You've barely beaten two teams that probably will only make the top 10 in Alpha because of all the CPU teams. You haven't won a championship since like season 7? Buda, all you need to do is everything you've been doing to this point. Tampa Bay, you need to put up or shut up. Prove that you belong in any discussion that inovlves the potential seeding of the playoffs.
Oceania Pro Zeta Conference Game of the Week
Gold Coast Vipers @ San Diego Supachargers
Last week was so impressive I want an Encore. It definitely helps that GCV plays a team that I think has some serious potential. It's going to require a top notch game plan, GCV is a double threat offense, with the ability to pass and run as they please. so SD is going to need a stout defensive showing to stop them. They also need to fire on all cylinders themselves. SDS, I have faith in you, now go out there and do your job. GCV, I'd wish you luck, but you don't really need it.
