1. A Team of Ice and Fire vs 4. Mentone Beach Assault
A 40 - 28 beating of the Assault was an early reminder to Mentone Beach that they're not ready for the World League. They've fought their way into the second round and tried hard to keep up with Ice and Fire in that beat down, but I'm just not sure they have much left in their tank. The mighty Assault looks off into the horizon, huddle, sheer terror gripping tight their hearts with icy fingers -- knowing full well what merciless horrors they'll suffer at the hands of Ice and Fire.
I'll take Ice and Fire as they're undefeated for a reason and I don't see them missing out on the World League this season.
2. Portland Rage vs 3. United Empire
How much does chemistry really effect your team? The Empire brought in almost a whole new team and had their chemistry destroyed this season, but still held on to the #3 seed for the playoffs. The Rage had a normal chemistry hit that every team faces, but then again the Rage only beat the Empire 33 - 26 at midseason. So again, how much does chemistry really effect your team? If chemistry is a huge factor, then the Rage is in trouble and needs to find a secrect weapon or pay off Bort in order to shut down the UE machine. If chemistry is really just overrated, this is going to be one hell game that even Corey will game plan for!
I'll take the Empire here for the upset as they are a giant among men in National Pro.

1. Lawrence Stop Signs vs 4. London Underground
The Stop Signs came into WEPL with a rather young roster and were able to battle it out for a while now and still remain a top team. Well times have changed and the Stop Signs are ready for better and bigger challenges; problem is they have one more hurdle to get across... the London Underground. The Stop Signs did win their battle with the Underground earlier this season 34 - 20 so they look like they're ready to rock, but this will not be a walk in the park. The Underground are a solid team and even at the #4 seed; they are dangerous.
I'll take Stop Signs in this one with a very close win.
2. Black Hand vs 6. Cincinnati Stoners
The Stoners get past round 1 and improve on their successful first season in the WEPL. They've done a great job and it's my wife's birthday today and we've been out drinking all night so I can't write anymore tonight; sorry for it being so late.... I still need to game plan for the damn Ice and Fire
I'll take the Black Hand in this one as they look hungry for the World League.
