A specific suggestion as to the point greatly diverted into flame silliness, how to reduce FFs in the ST game.

All too often a tackle is a surprise to the ball carrier, it being made by someone who came from behind, dove or blindsided him, which factors into the fumble statistics.

Kick Returners, on the other hand, generally see their assailant coming and are better prepared for the hit as a result.

And usually those tackles are at a high combined speed which apparently increases the chances for a fumble.

So either take the speed factor away, or give the KRer a boost to not fumbling above and beyond the VAs and SAs and AEQ that are a result of his seeing the tackle coming. Basically an innate Cover Up like skill.

AND

Since a KRer knows that holding on to the ball is Mission Number 1, have that base chance increase for each prior fumble during the course of the game.

You can then still have your STOP players built to take the ball away. But they would be up against a slightly tougher target than they currently have. That way they can still get a FF or two but maybe not 20 or 10 or say 6 so often.

And yes something should be done about the KR TD silliness too. No idea how to fix that though. Easier to break a block maybe???? Not sure whats going wrong on the coverage game to fix it. But thats another thread anyway. Unless maybe its too many Pancakes from the speed thing too? In which case maybe removing speed from the KR equations all around would be good.

All I know is that we drastically changed the FF% on our returner at the beginning of the season by increasing his carrying attribute. Who knew it would be such a useful category?

who would've guessed that adapting a build to the game could work so well... certainly not yello1.

Do try to grasp the meaning of the written word some time.

If you want to lower ST Fumbles game wide you just need to get rid of Special Teamer VA. The S24 EQ changes might help as well.

Do try to grasp that a lot of what you are talking about can be addressed by either:

1) Fixing a build
2) Fixing eq
3) Fixing VAs.

How many returners are STILL rocking 3rd capped carrying vs. STOPs built to force fumbles? The existence of STOP dots is only going to increase, it's time for returners to adapt and stop bitching.

I think the answers are obvious. If you pump speed, speed, and more speed as well as agility and neglect strength and carrying, you can expect your return man to be a fumbling machine.

To avoid fumbles, back off the speed and agility and add strength and carrying.

But then he would not score TDs. There has to be a solution that allows returners to have their cake and eat it too.

(sarcasm off)

Yeeah like I havent said ten times or more in this forum let alone in the suggestions one that those KR TDs are equally offensive to the quality of the sim.

Yeah, The ST VA seems like a likely offender, and has no real purpose other than to make people stuck on STs feel better about themselves. Maybe give a home to under built players.

Or inflate stats.

And yes, the EQ change should help but I think not enough.

My guy has a rather high carry, strength is not bad. 60 maybe, I forget. Not low anyway.

And if you look at the NFL your returners tend not to be built like linebackers, so it doesnt make sense to fix the problem by requiring them to be so built.
