Week 11 has come and gone. Perhaps this write-up thread will have less drama than the last.
Top Ten
#1 (1) - Buda Pests (11-0) - Asylum saw Buda coming and went CPU, meaning this past week was a gimme for the Pests. More of the same for Week 12, as Buda faces a team that is worse than CPU. They actually have a level 17 player in the Pros.... Next opponent - Edessa Spartans (Prediction - Buda by infinity or something close to it).
#2 (2) - Banzai Pipeline Nites (11-0) - It is really hard to be creative and not repeat the same thing every week when the top teams play CPU or lowbie teams. There is no parity in the Pros and it sucks. BPN beat AGT as expected. They get another CPU team for Week 12. Yawn.... Next opponent - Asylum Maulers (Prediction - Banzai by 280)
#3 (3) - Devonport Devils (10-1) - Life is funny. I find it very amusing how life works. The magic number for the last game was 3. Devonport allowed 3 KO TDs
and forced 3 ST fumbles
. In the end though, this game was about Devonport's D, which held the Miracle to -9 rushing yards total on 25 rushing attempts. Up next, another top team vs CPU team. Exciting stuff... Next opponent - Bora Bora Bangaroos (Prediction - Devonport forces 8 ST Fumbles and scores at least 15 TDs on ST)
#4 (4) - Asau Pirates (10-1) - More of the same for Asau in Week 11. For Week 12, they do at least get a live opponent as Kona Gold rolls into town. Kona has not looked as good as I had thought they might, and with a large number of players in first season decline, they probably are not going to look better now. Asau should win this one easily. Next opponent - Kona Gold (Prediction - Asau by 70+)
#5 (5) - SoCal BDC (8-3) - Another top team vs. CPU. Wohoo! However, their next game has game of the week written all over it. In my opinion, the winner of this next game will be the 4 seed and get the home promotion. Also in my opinion, these two teams will face again in Week 17. The question is: is the home promotion worth enough to show some of your cards? I honestly don't know what to expect out of this game. Next opponent - Hong Kong Voodoo (Prediction - SoCal by 3)
#6 (6) - Gold Coast Vipers (10-1) - GCV beats bad team by alot. They now play another bad team. Sound familiar? Next opponent - Nerfed Team (Prediction - Gold Coast wins by 120+)
#7 (7) - Amsterdam Bulls (9-2) - Amsterdam won as expected and now they face Komodo in the Zeta game of the week. There is slightly less riding on this game, as I expect both teams to have first round home games and are just playing to see who avoids Asau in the second round. Still, there are not many games in Zeta worth gameplanning for so perhaps these two will dust off the playoff AIs and give them a trial run. Next opponent - Komodo Dragon (Prediction - Amsterdam by 7)
#8 (8) - Hong Kong Voodoo (8-3) - See SoCal write-up above. All I'll add is that with SoCal's lack of care this regular season, I would not be shocked at all if Hong Kong pulls off the upset. In the end, I think SoCal may just have HKV outgunned enough to get the win either way. Next opponent - SoCal BDC (Prediction - SoCal by 3)
#9 (9) - Komodo Dragon (9-2) - See Amsterdam write-up. If Komodo loses, they will likely be forced with having to beat Kona in Week 16 to get a home playoff game. Next opponent - Amsterdam Bulls (Prediction - Amsterdam by 7)
#10 (10) - Kingston Uprising (7-4) - Easy win over CPU team. Up next is the third of a triple-header of games with playoff seeding implications. Kingston will be hosting Gold Coast in a game that has bigger implications for GCMM at the moment. By virtue of their win over Offtopica, Kingston has just about locked up a playoff berth. They lost to both SoCal and Hong Kong, so they are a very long shot to get a home playoff game. Thus, winning does not change much for Kingston. In contrast, GCMM is currently in 4th place and thus is still in the running for a home playoff game. They beat Hong Kong, which will help them, and they face SoCal in week 16, so in some ways they control their own fate. However, losing to Kingston would drop their chances significantly and force a win out situation with them having to face 2 upper tier teams and 2 hungry newcomers. Next opponent - Gold Coast Michelin Men (Prediction - Kingston by 7+)

Thanks for doing these Plank!!
I can't blame them, I probably call it quits if we lost to a CPU as well
