Right now, he's multi training jumping, stamina, strength and tackling. He's going to 77 cap vision then jumping, and for AEQ, going with 3 pieces, SD, pass deflect and make tackle. Probably took speed too low initially, I capped it at 77.

I have to agree that you didn't take speed high enough initially, but it still looks ok

SDC is not the best choice for AEQ given that the bonuses are really small. I also wouldn't worry about your speed as you should still have plenty, and stopping a little earlier will allow you to put more in vis, jmp, or tkl.

Which would be better, smooth operator or super vision for the SA AEQ instead?

I would have said another deflect piece, but now that they're going to be halved I don't know. Consider Change Direction, especially if you want to put all equipment into speed, otherwise I guess Superior Vision is a solid choice. Also, make sure you plan to get stamina to at least 60 by the end-build.
