Had a nice long write-up nearly finished, then I freaking closed the browser tab. I really hate repeating myself, so here is the more brief version. 11-32 coming in a moment, just don't want to lose my write-up again.

Top Ten

#1 (2) - Buda Pests (10-0) - Buda gets the top spot by virtue of being 14-0 against non-WL pro teams in ranked scrims. In meaningful games (i.e. ranked scrims + league games), they have only lost to WL teams. Next opponent - Asylum Maulers (Prediction - Buda by a bunch [say that 5 times fast])).

#2 (1) - Banzai Pipeline Nites (10-0) - BPN + team with not great ST = blowout win. If you don't pay attention to STs before you play Banzai, you are almost certainly going to lose. Next opponent - All Good Things (Prediction - Banzai by 70+)

#3 (3) - Devonport Devils (9-1) - With a 2 game lead over the 4th place teams, Devonport looks to be in great shape to finish no worse than the 3rd seed. Next opponent - Offtopica Miracle (Prediction - Yello gets pissed off again. Devonport wins by 50+)

#4 (4) - Asau Pirates (9-1) - Asau is the best team in Zeta. In other news, the sky is blue. More of the same for the Pirates this week. Next opponent - Oberon Bulls (Prediction - Asau by 100+)

#5 (5) - SoCal BDC (5-3) - Maybe I'm an Alpha homer, but I am keeping SoCal in the top 5 because: Alpha is much tougher, they beat Amsterdam of Zeta by more than Asau did, and they played two of the top 3 ranked teams very close. Next opponent - Edessa Spartans {formerly San Diego Scorpions} (Prediction - SoCal wins by 255+)

#6 (6) - Gold Coast Vipers (9-1) - The win over Komodo a few games back, means that all GCV needs is to beat Amsterdam in Week 14 to lock up the 2nd seed. Until then, it is easy pickings for GCV. Next opponent - Compton Panthers (Prediction - Gold Coast wins by 80+)

#7 (7) - Amsterdam Bulls (8-2) - Amsterdam holds off fast rising Hong Kong for the 7 spot by virtue of their close game against Asau a few games back. They get a fairly easy game next, then face Komodo in what should be a great game. Next opponent - South Bend Rhinocopters (Prediction - Amsterdam by 50+)

#8 (11) - Hong Kong Voodoo (7-3) - Narrow loses to Banzai and Devonport plus wins over Tampa Bay, Kingston, and Holland help get Hong Kong off the bubble and into the top 10. They can take the next step by beating SoCal in week 12, but first must beat a decent SWAT City team that needs to win games like this one if they hope to make it into the playoffs. Next opponent - SWAT City Vigilantes (Prediction - Hong Kong wins by 24)

#9 (9) - Komodo Dragon (8-2) - Komodo has shown they can play with any Zeta team not named Asau. In my opinion, they only have one more competitive game, and thus have basically locked up a top 4 seed. Next opponent - TCU Super Frogs (Prediction - Komodo by a whole bunch of points)

#10 (8) - Kingston Uprising (6-4) - Kingston has lost 4 games to 4 teams ranked above them. I was starting to wonder if they were even a solid mid tier team, but their 48 point win over Offtopica has me thinking they are going to end up as the 6th place team in Alpha. Next opponent - Bora Bora Bangaroos (Prediction - Kingston by 180+)

The Rest

#11 (13) - Tampa Bay Puganeers (6-4)
#12 (12) - Gold Coast Michelin Men (7-3)
#13 (16) - Kona Gold (7-3)
#14 (10) - Offtopica Miracle (6-4)
#15 (14) - SWAT City Vigilantes (4-6)
#16 (17) - Holland Pinoy All Stars Jrs (2-8)
#17 (15) - South Bend Rhicopters (6-4)
#18 (18) - Deadwood Mules (6-4)
#19 (20) - Prague Panthers (6-4)
#20 (21) - San Diego Supa Chargers (5-5)
#21 (19) - Oberon Bulls (5-5)
#22 (24) - Compton Panthers (3-7)
#23 (22) - Florida BeachDogz (3-7)
#24 (25) - All Good Things (4-6)
#25 (23) - Asylum Maulers (2-8)
#26 (26) - Syracuse Synergy (0-10)
#27 (27) - Nerfed Team (1-9)
#28 (28) - Guam Chamoros Rising Sun Devils (2-8)
#29 (29) - The Sacred Order of the Crimson Dragon (2-8)
#30 (30) - Bora Bora Bangaroos (0-10)
#31 (31) - TCU Super Frogs (0-10)
#32 (32) - Edessa Spartans {formerly San Diego Scorpions} (0-10)

Maybe I wasn't entirely clear, maybe beenlurken is not to blame for being dense about the point I was making.

As I stated clearly, I was not pissed about the games outcome - I expected to lose as our O sucks and the team in general does as well. I even liked some of what worked (whcih was an illusion, same D total sucked in next two games against lesser foes).

What pissed me off was the simulations failure to accurately model professional football outcomes, to wit in this particular allowing a system where forcing a fumble on a kick return can happen six times in a game. Has never happened so far as I can tell in the entire history of the NFL. This is a pro football sim, the results should be pro-football esque. It pisses me off as much as a bowling score of 310 would in a bowling sim and for the same reason.

So please, feel free to beat the OTM all you like. Not expecting anything less until at least Season 31 given whats in my farm system. Not going to piss me off.

But I will continue to rant about the bad modeling in the game, DO try not to take it as personally as our dearly deluded Been lurken seems to have.

It was a joke (albiet not necessarily a funny one, especially when you are the brunt of it). My apologies if I offended.

Altho, my GMs and I put alot of emphasis on ST performance and we have STOPs that forced fumbles against BL's ST unit (altho my boys failed to recover either of them). Thus, if you have not made any adjustments and the results from the Banzai game pissed you off, then my joke prediction might be very accurate.

There are many teams that we have not forced fumbles against or returned kicks against. The SIM is not perfect. Conform to it, or get left behind is all I can say. We are in season 22 and still beta. If you actually think this game is going to mirror the NFL anytime soon, you are not being honest with yourself.

Plank and his team did a very nice job of shutting everything down that we did in our T game.

I guess.

It's like this tho. I pretty much know that my wife hates it when she asks me to do something, i agree to do it, then my lazy slack ass doesn't do it. Thus, if I expect that scenario to play out (like it does most weekends that she goes shopping and tries to give me a honey do list), I can easily predict her unhappy reaction to me. Doesn't make her a bad person.

In this case, I know that yello gets pissed when his team fumbles alot on ST. I know that my team is similar to BPN's and forces alot of ST fumbles. As mentioned above, we forced 2 fumbles on ST against BPN (altho neither was recovered) and we just got done forcing 6 against Florida. Thus, it seemed like a pretty reasonable prediction that yello will be unhappy again.

No one ever said you whined about the outcome of the game. I dont know why you keep repeating that.

There is NOT one aspect of GLB that accurately simulates professional football. For you to continue to single out and whine about ST's as if the stats there are anymore unrealistic than on O and D is getting to be ridiculous. With the limitations of a game centered around dice rolls it is impossible to accurately sim an NFL game. It just will never happen (again, dice rolls). Not to mention people want to see the dots that they paid good money for and spent 2 years of their precious time building rack up some stats... its the reason most voted for the game to allow us to do so way back when.

Just give it up already yello.

Oh I thought you meant the score.

Thanks for the warning.

Maybe I will skip watching the game then. Expect to lose but watching the guy spin the ball on the carpet gets old.
