Reno… Under Reno’s casino lights, the San Jose Chupacabra came up aces against the Reno Marauders, shutting out the home team 17-0. It’s the Chupacabra’s fifth win in a row.

Reno had limited success moving the football against San Jose’s stingy defence but could not convert on key third down opportunities to extend their drives. Time after time, the Chupacabra frustrated Reno’s offense by limiting yardage gained and dropping back to deflect passes.

“These guys aren’t just some scrubs off the street. Reno’s got a good team,” said U.R. Toast, who turned in two sacks on the night, “But that’s what this defence will do. It’ll stop you…frustrate you…then knock you on your ass. That’s how we roll man.”

Remo Rankin and company kept up a balanced attack that did all of its damage in the first half.

“Hey, we just got some points on the board and turned it over to the D. We’re confident that if we give them a lead, they’ll hold it,” said tight end Rolan Beastie who scored the lone San Jose receiving touchdown on the night.

With their winning streak in tow, the Chupacabra play both the teams from Oklahoma City, the league doormat Outlaws and the league leading Spartans.

“We ain’t lookin past anyone. The Outlaws won this week and if we don’t keep our (expletive) together, they have the talent to get by us,” said linebacker Demetrius McQueen, “So we keepin it simple. We’re gettin to OKC and killin’ everybody…Outlaw…Spartan….don;t matter. We’ll let the paramedics sort their asses out.”
