Welcome to rock bassists week. Songs featuring some of the best bassists in rock history.
Picks record this season: 62-34

Game of the Week
Odessa Mojo (5-1) v Nashville Hounds (4-2)
They just take football more seriously down south and here we have two southern teams meeting with a lot on the line. I don’t think either of these teams Snow http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuFI5KSPAt4 under the other but the way fourth quarters are going lately you never know. Mainly because Nashville hasn’t beaten a team with a winning record as of yet, I like Odessa here. Odessa 42, Nashville 34
Other Games
Machu Picchu Hidden Dragons (6-0) v The Drunken Addicts of Omerta (3-3)
MPHD continues to cut through the season like a hot knife through butter while the Addicts are hanging right in the thick of the playoff race. The main thing about Omerta though is that they beat who they are supposed to beat and lose to teams with winning records. MPHD definitely falls under the latter category, so you have to wonder if Omerta can Ride the Lighting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uebInqG1pJI in this one. MPHD 45, Omerta 17
Dallas Longhorns (6-0) v Tyrrhenian Sea Wasps (0-6)
Ah, mirror image records at this point usually lead to some pretty ugly games. That should be the case here unless Dallas gets caught looking ahead to the MPHD game next week. You have to give Dallas a lot of credit for plowing through their conference like a Monsoon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Le_IyYLrUtQ thus far. Just not a lot of monsoons in Texas. Dallas 56, TSW 3
Korb Destroyers (4-2) v Krungthep Garudas (3-3)
Both of these teams had rough outings last week and one of them will have another this time. I don’t think it will be one of those Wasted Years http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwB9zg7Tbx8 for either team because they both should finish in the top 8 but a loss here sure makes that less convenient. Korb 34, Krungthep 24
Milwaukee Juggernaughts (3-3) v Lincoln Navigators (2-4)
They tried throwing Lincoln on the dead cart last week but they spoke up that they weren’t dead quite yet. They are in fact very much alive with another win here. In all reality both teams have a playoff shot but both will have to show up every game with a Working Man http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h59mDlBSt7o attitude to get it done minus the raw ability of some of the top tier squads. Juggs 40, Lincoln 30
E-City Mercenaries (3-3) v C-Town MF’n Hood (2-4)
A very similar matchup to the above game, this one has similar implications for two teams on the bottom of the playoff race but very much involved. We all know that there is no Afterlife http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIRNdveLnJI in the WL when you don’t make the playoffs so they’ll both show up with two barrels loaded. ECM 38, Hood 31
Cincinnati Shockers (3-3) v Sumatra Seahawks (2-4)
Yet another of those matchups of 3 versus 2 win teams that will have consequences in the playoff race for the rest of the season. Either team will be saying My Name is Mud http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=953PkxFNiko if they lose here and both will come out desperate I believe. From what I’ve seen though I think Cincy is turning a corner. Cincy 45, Sumatra 28
Carthage Mad Clash (1-5) v Moosejaw Roughriders (1-5)
It’s a painful season for two WL veterans who are still definitely alive mathematically but who in reality have very little hope of recovery. One team’s hope will stay alive while the other’s will further diminish. I Can’t Explain http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1uFcPjILC7k what’s going on with these guys but we’ll see them both back again one day. Moose 31, Carthage 24

Zeta
Game of the Week
Paris Musketeers (6-0) v Alpine (5-1)
This will be Paris’ biggest test to date while Alpine gets to show that the first game was truly an aberration and they are the team to beat. Which WEPL team gets to rule Zeta for another week? We’re basically going to lock these two in a Rusy Cage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBZs_Py-1_0 err, football field, and see who’s still standing when it’s over. It’s didn’t work for me last time but I’ll go with the home field advantage again. Paris 42, Alpine 38
Other Games
Canton Immortals (5-1) v Rosarica Titans of Fire (3-3)
Canton looks like it’s developing into one of those perennial WL teams while RTF is looking just to stay in the playoff race. Right from when they say Ready Steady Go http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nR9CdhyzXr8 I expect Canton to take over and not look back. Then again I expected to be rich and famous by now too. Canton 45, RTF 28
Sofia Spiders (4-2) v East St. Louis Tire Fires (3-3)
This should be a damn good game. It’s taking ESL a while to find themselves under this season’s sim but they’ll be there at the end. Meanwhile Sofia has been consistently good this season. The idea of hosting the former world champions in Sofia for nacho day may cause some mild Hysteria http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJg8U0QMXEQ but that just adds to the fun. Sofia 38, ESL 35
Indianapolis Gurupies (4-2) v Honolulu Hurricane Wife Carriers (3-3)
Another matchup of a team playing well this season taking on a mildly struggling former world champion. I got A Whole Lotta Love http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXKboDqiSbE for the HHWC franchise but Indy is playing a lot better ball right now. Will that bear out for this game or do those pasty Indiana boys gets distracted by the Honolulu beach party scene? Indy 42, HHWC 33
Mayan Prophecy (4-2) v Palembang Royally Drunken Monks (0-6)
When a team that has yet to win a game takes on one of the hottest teams going right now, it’s probably a bad combination. Me and October never give up, I assure you, but it appears we don’t have the horses to hang with these guys. It seems we spend most of our time Flirtin’ With Disaster http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhhtRxqSrys and disaster has slipped us a ruffie. Mayan 38, Monks 20
Eastern European Alliance (3-3) v Three Kingdom Warriors (0-6)
EEA was on the brink of a downward spiral but that win over the Monks really helps. Now they get another relatively (by WL standards) win over TKW. Ya, I am pretty much putting that one in the books. Just remember to leave that nice White Room http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGZeqwdWoeo you moved into up here in the WL nice and clean when you exit. Riiight. EEA 56, TKW 13
Somalia Pirates (3-3) v Krakow Ice Dragons (2-4)
Boy, for a team that started the season like world beaters, KID has just fallen completely off of the map. Hey, my team was never on the map, so I can’t tease too much. Somalia meanwhile is hanging on the fringe of the playoff race and there is a lot of season left. If KID can pull this one out they are within striking distance still themselves. I doubt there is any kind of locker room Schism http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhjG47gtMCo that would prevent such a comeback under TJC’s watch. Somalia 52, KID 30
Queensland Exiles (2-4) v Providence Radicals (1-5)
Ya it’s been a rough season for both of these teams that I personally thought would do better. We’ll see which of these teams still has Truth Faith http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=og1HAkjOuL0 that they’re in the mix the season. Both are down, but neither is quite out yet. QE 41, Providence 30
