I'm a bit late, but better late than never right?

Top Ten

#1 (1) - Banzai Pipeline Nites (5-0) - The job of power ranking is not easy. The new guys come in and get bent about being ranked too low, and when you rank a team #1, they don the false modesty and gripe about being too high. As fast420 would say, you can never be too high though, and I don't think BPN is too high. Granted, I might pick Buda to win if they play each other, but Banzai has earned this spot. Last week was a snoozer for BPN, as they demolished a CPU team. This week they get a much tougher opponent. Next opponent - Hong Kong Voodoo (Prediction - Banzai by 35)

#2 (2) - Buda Pests (5-0) - Interesting tidbit: Buda is ranked #11 in the Niboris's rankings and is the 6th highest ranked non-WL team. Not so interesting was their game against Bora Bora. They beat them like a rented mule. Buda's next opponent should be alot more interesting, but the results may not be. Next opponent - Holland Pinoy All Stars Jrs (Prediction - Buda by 60+).

#3 (3) - Devonport Devils (4-1) - Holland came into OPL looking for respect, but their opening schedule has been brutal, and OPL has not been very kind to them. Devonport was no different this week. It should be more of the same this week, as another OPL newcomer faces the Devils. Next opponent - SWAT City Vigilantes (Prediction - Devonport by 60+)

#4 (4) - Asau Pirates (4-1) - As I look thru the top team's results and schedules, I am left wondering, "what the hell has happened to competition at the pro level". I know this is nothing new, but it seems to be getting worse and worse each season. Asau just got done beating the fire out of a team, and this next game should be more of the same. Hit the snooze button and go back to sleep guys. Thank goodness for scrims. Next opponent - Nerfed Team (Prediction - Asau by 8675309)

#5 (5) - SoCal BDC (4-1) - I have to say that I am baffled by the last two games SoCal has played. They follow up a stomping by BPN with a nail biter against a team that Devonport beat by 85. Were it not for GCMM losing, SoCal would probably have dropped, even with the win, but instead, they hold on to the 5th spot for another week. These guys are smart and have been around the block a time or two, so maybe they are sandbagging. If not, they will need to right the ship quickly, as they have two tough opponents over the next two weeks. Next opponent - Kingston Uprising (Prediction - SoCal by 3)

#6 (7) - Gold Coast Vipers (4-1) - GCV looked to have had a little post-big game letdown this week. I would have expected a much larger victory for GCV against Deadwood. The get another mid-tier opponent this week, so it will be interesting to see if it is close again. Next opponent - Prague Panthers (Prediction - Gold Coast by 23)

#7 (8) - Kingston Uprising (3-2) - Solid win for Kingston over SWAT City. Their brutal opening schedule continues as they host SoCal next. SoCal has shown some weakness lately and Kingston has played solid dotball, so I expect this to be a great game. Next opponent - SoCal BDC (Prediction - SoCal by 3)

#8 (9) - Amsterdam Bulls (4-1) - Easy win for the Bulls this past week. This week, it is the Battle of the Bulls. Amsterdam will load up and head to Oberon to prove who has the best brand of cattle, and who is just chopped beef. I've never been to Oberon, but I had a nice steak in Amsterdam once, so I am going with the Dutch steer to run the Bulls of Oberon out of the stadium. Next opponent - Oberon Bulls (Prediction - Amsterdam by 40)

#9 (10) - Komodo Dragon (4-1) - If I had any doubt about Komodo, they erased it last week. Hard to imagine that I had trouble deciding between Komodo and South Bend, and then Komodo drops 90 on South Bend. They clearly made a statement that they are a top 10 team and a team to be reckoned with in Zeta. Next opponent - San Diego Supa Chargers (Prediction - Komodo by 70+)

#10 (11) - Offtopica Miracle (4-1) - Welcome back to the top ten yello! Very nice win for OTM over their long time rival GCMM. In Devonport's time in OPL, OTM has been a bit of an underperformer, and I have allowed that to influence my ranking. However, OTM has put together a nice resume thus far and definitely has earned their spot in the top 10. This week they get a mostly CPU team, but they need to be careful, as HCreek's team can beat you if you don't take them seriously. Next opponent - All Good Things (Prediction - Offtopica by 24)

Even though we're picked to get slaughtered, it was an entertaining read on the battle of the bulls for this week.

Maybe? I think they are in prime lolregularseason mode.

SoCal is still the team to beat in alpha, I think. They will be a scary opponent for anyone in the playoffs, when they decide to play.

Yup .. SoCal hasn't change anything really all season - reg or ranked.

Yeah, we're doing the same thing over at Oberon but on a much more massive scale to make it interesting. Alot more excitement being on the edge of either in or out of the playoffs vs. a difference in seeding.

Perhaps, but then have you guys been changing things up? I know I haven't changed much other than to put in a few minor fixes. I think fast is changing up O some, but that is more working out stuff then gameplanning for weaknesses (I think at least). I don't really believe too many teams are doing too much gameplanning at this point, but I could be wrong.

In the end, I'm not surprised that a top team lost to another top team, but I would think talent alone would be enough to beat the mid-tiers and to keep it close against the top teams.

AGREED.
They will be a tough draw in the playoffs, for sure!

Yeah, that's been our problem so far. Jdros has caught a case of the "super busy real life", and has not really touched our AI since the preseason. So everyone kind of knows what to do to us until he rights the ship. Hopefully we'll wake up come playoff time. Sorry guys.
