#1 Indianapolis Gurupies vs. #5 Kingston Uprising
Solid round 1 win for Kingston as they beat (I have a hard time calling it an upset) a very good Voodoo team by 23. As expected, Indy cruised through their matchup against Tampa Bay. The Gurupies took the regular season matchup between these two teams with ease by a score of 52-13. I think Kingston makes a better game of it this time around but considering Indy once tabbed Kingston second best in Alpha I dont see them giving Kingston an opportunity to steal this game, especially since they are sporting shiny new level 72 gear.
The Prediction - Gurupies by 28
#2 Gold Coast Michelin Men vs. #3 Banzai Pipeline Nites
Well I was one off my prediction on the GCMM round 1 game and some late turnovers allowed Banzai to run away from Stockholm at the end of the game. That said, we get a much anticipated rematch between these two teams. Both teams were knocked out of the playoffs in round two last season.. GCMM in a close game with Cypriot Freedom and Banzai in a close game with eventual OPL Champs Devonport Devils. GCMM won the regular season game 34-17 in week 3. On top of that GCMM has a lot to prove after being called out by Indy that both Kingston and Banzai were better teams despite having beat both teams during the regular season. Should be a close game that comes down to the final drive!
Prediction - Banzai by 6

Zeta Conference
#1 Asau Pirates vs. #4 Syracuse Synergy
Well, I think I am finally over my denial that Oregon is not a Zeta contender as they were stomped by a savy Syracuse team that took the ball out of Noodlearms hands and pounded it with their stud FB. GG jamz! That said, up next they get an undefeated Asau team that is heavily favored to win Zeta. Surprisingly these two teams have never met in the playoffs. Asau won the regular season matchup 76-14 in week 3. We should expect a much closer game this time around, however, I think Asau puts the exclamation on a solid Syracuse run and sends them packing.
Prediction - Asua by 24
#2 Sumatra Seahawks vs. #3 Gold Coast Vipers
WOW... I dont really know what to say here except (not to take anything away from the brutal annihilation the Vipers inflicted on Kona, but..) HOLY MOTHER MORALE SPIRAL OF DEATH. I think it is fair to say Gold Coast was not going to be denied a spot in the second round this season!! On the other side, Sumatra had flashbacks from their regular season matchup with a very talented Amersterdam team as they once again had to make a late second half rally to secure a win. Anyway, this game has a very similar feel to the 2/3 matchup in Alpha as both teams were ranked #2 in Zeta at different parts of the season. Sumatra won the regular season game 27-23 in week 5 and since then both teams have been very strong by only losing two game each (they each lost to both Kona and Asau). That said, this should be another great game decided on the final drive.
Prediction - Vipers by 3
