Texan’s Week Playoff Round 1
Usual disclaimer: this is my opinion only. If you don’t like it, I still love you.
Welcome to reality TV week, just in time for the playoffs.
Picks record this season: 113-23
Naga
#1 Palembang Drunken Monks (16-0) v #8 Bandar Lampung Pigskin Pirates (9-7)
Previous Meeting: Monks 83, BLPP 0
Ya, I’m going to assume that BLPP was not playing up to par that first game. If that’s not the case, they could be the Biggest Loser http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-x84NrcIj0 of round 1. Expect their veteran staff to tighten things up now though while the Monks try and parlay their 32-0 regular season record the last two seasons into at last one trophy. Monks 45, BLPP 20
#2 Portland Dirty Penguins (15-1) v #7 Golden Hill Bones (10-6)
Previous Meeting: PDP 21, GHB 20
An excellent matchup for 2/7 fare. GHB has been looking strong for the most part this season and they are a dark horse in this matchup. PDP’s only loss though was to a Big Brother http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lN_hZY1PT3I Monks team. You know they’ll be ready for this one because the first game was as tight as it gets. PDP 35, GHB 27
#3 Victoria Teabaggers (13-3) v #6 Woody Island Wolverines (11-5)
Previous Meeting: VT 20, WIW 10
These two teams have built up a good friendly rivalry over the course of the past few seasons so it’s only fitting that they collide in the playoffs. Both squads displayed stellar D last time out. This is a great example of the Amazing Race http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqmX0XmTjUo we should see this postseason in both conferences. VT 23, WIW 17
#4 Royal Blue Drunken Smurfs of Funkalicious Labatt (12-4) v #5 Cult of Personalities (12-4)
Previous Meeting: Smurfs 48, CoP 27
The first game was a bit rough for CoP where they were unable to tackle or cover the Smurfs in an impressive display of extreme team speed. While it’s too late to fix ur builds, maybe CoP can at least fix ur gameplan and make a go of it. We’ll see which team is the Survivor http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYGCP93ZTOU when all is said and done here. Smurfs 38, CoP 31

lolgaruda
#1 Three Kingdom Warriors (16-0) v #8 Mandalay King Cobras (9-7)
Previous Meeting: TKW 31, MKC 30
MKC gave TKW all they could handle last time out so this might be a little tougher than the typical ⅛ matchup where the 1 seed has won 7 more games over the course of the season. Who knows for sure though since you never know what they TKW boys are up to at any given time. So You Think You Can Dance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLtSfYX8tJk MKC? TKW 38, MKC 24
#2 Buffalo Rampage (14-2) v #7 Krakow Kryptonite (9-7)
Previous Meeting: Buffalo 72, KK 10
This is KK’s last run in the SEA playoffs, at least for a while so you know they’d like to make a better showing than their regular season showdown with Buffalo. If so, they are going to need an Extreme Makeover http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mN4lFuGdENc of whatever gameplan they used the first time. Will the Juice be loose again? Buffalo 56, KK 20
#3 Wu Dang Kung Fu Academy (13-3) v #6 Destin Leviathans (10-6)
Previous Meeting: KFA 45, Destin 13
I’m sure Destin wants me to pick against them again this game because it seems to be their good luck charm. While they got housed by Wu the first time out, they are playing a lot better as of late and defying expectations. KFA meanwhile has more characters than Jersey Shore http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFt1T-BXl_o and would love to finally make good on that promise to stop lolgaruda and win a title. KFA 31, Destin 24
#4 Phu Khao Bow Chicka Brown Cows (12-4) v #5 SDSU Aztecs (10-6)
Previous Meeting: Cows 26, Aztecs 23
This could be one of the better first round matchups judging by the regular season score between these teams. The Cows have that extra motivation before going out of SEA with a bang to rebuild, sending their remaining elite players to the Monks in the process. SDSU has been the top rookie team in SEA this season by a hair over Destin and they would love to be one to get a playoff win as well. Going into Phu Khao is going to be like going into Hell’s Kitchen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFz02mUgGaE in summer though. Cows 30, Aztecs 28
