Well gentlemen, I hadn't planned on this, but with having as much trouble recruiting as I have had only to have 23 dots, I have been forced to change my mind yet again about the future of IC.

Now I have already told my OC that I am willing to give the OPL a try with all CPU dots, but I figured you guys deserve a say in the matter (even though I think I already know your answer).

Should IC stay and try to win with all CPUs or give another team a chance by replacing us?


I really have no idea what league I should drop to if leaving, as I do have a farm team, but they are only at level 33ish.

It is a sad day for me (and a sad reflection on the state of FAs within GLB as a whole) as I haven't been back up in OPL for long, but it is what it is and I must accept that.
Of course, I will still be involved with OPL via Banzai (perhaps more so there now), but IC will only be a shell for this coming season.

TBH, a team that would replace you is not going to be very competitive either. Devonport's farm team got promoted to WEPL with only an 11-5 Regional Pro Elite record and an Effective Level of 970. If we got promoted, you have to figure the teams that did not are not very good. (Definitely makes you scratch your head in regards to the VBA demotion).

A quick look at Reg Pro Elite #1 shows that there are only 3 teams with 40+ players and EL higher than 970. The average team in OPL is ~ 1055 EL. Since CPUs scale to the opponent's level (with a 10% penalty), an all CPU team is probably going to perform like a 945 ish team. Your 23 players are 1053, so if the other half of your team is 945, your team would average roughly 1000.

You will lose to most teams, but should do better than the gut jobs and possibly a few of the lower leveled newly promoted teams.

I think it too bad for you guys, your conference and the league as a whole. My feelings are that you still have a lot of time. I see a lot of good dots whose agents are taking a few days off it seems and will likely come back to find fewer spots than they suspect on teams as good as yours so I think you can get a good team fielded and fill in gaps with CPUs if you have to. I think everyone wants to see you guys active and competitive.

Just thought about something.

Since your CPUs will scale down to the newly promoted teams, you may lose to those guys as well, but against the top teams, you will not be much worse to play, which was my main point.

tbh, I kinda like the challenge of playing with all CPU dots, lol. Call me a glutton for punishment or whatever.
I just don't want to do it for the lulz and then see a bunch of complaints is all.

Of course, CPUs no longer necessarily mean 255-0 scores, and an all CPU team won one of the Regional Pro leagues last season, so who knows.

If available I would go after that CPU wr who led the league last season in rec yards!

Yeah, since you have to request CPU dots now they should really get rid of the Make Offer tab for them.

Ya know what might be amusing

Most of my second year decliners are in my Reg Pro team.

Was thinking of trying to win a champ with them.

But might be amusing to have them play for IC. Not a full roster, but darned near. QB, 2xHB, 2xFB, 4xWR, 2xTE etc. Heck if you want some 50 levelers to second string it I think it IS pretty much a full squad.

Interesting, but most are not old enough for Nat Pro (301+ days)
