which is more effective in a pass rush situation? seems for a dt it would be strong base but i havent heard much either way.... im 2-3-2-3-1 in pass rusher skills and only have 1 hurry in over a season

Most skills only start being effective at about 7. So you wouldnt see much effect with 3 in both.
Personally i've noticed more impact when i boosted shed block then strong base.
Shed block does tend to bounce your DT outside, which doesnt really help that much as you still have to run around the OT (and DE) which gives the QB time.
Strong base sometimes helps pancake the OG which is great but with the high strengh OG builds most people have you wont see that happen alot.

i would assume that strong base is a modifier of strength, and shed block is a modifier of agility/blocking. with that said, whichever one you have higher of, would probably be the most effective.

i think the ultimate goal for a DE is to have high Shed Block and high Strong Base.

I'd imagine that Shed Block has a strength component to it. It says it represents swim, spin, and rip... two of those moves are highly dependent on strength.

I'd say strong base if your being push backward your totally ineffective. You can still shed blocks and get tackles for a loss or sacks with good agility and some speed but if your being pushed back back the whole time it doesn't matter if you can shed a block.
