Playoff Round 1 Predictions
Usual disclaimer: this is my opinion only. If you don’t like it, I still love you.
Welcome to another installment of video games week. Not my favorite genre, but MMORPG week is up next.
Naga
#1 Palembang Drunken Monks (16-0) v #8 Benton Harbor Havoc (9-7)
Previous Meeting: Monks 62, BHH 0
BHH got a last second favor from WW’s win over PDP and they enter the playoffs as the 8 seed. The Monks hope to continue their perfect season throughout the playoffs and they’ve had more starpower than DC Heroes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNXe8Mw4u1A this season. I don’t think the margin of victory will be as much this time but the end result probably will be... Monks 45, BHH 17
#2 Semarang Red Bulls (14-2) v #7 Sainte Foy Cyclones (9-7)
Previous Meeting: SFC 26, Semarang 14
It was a shocking Dark Age of Camelot http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oB7flS_1XaE in the first meeting of these two teams as SFC jumped up and surprised the Red Bulls. We know they have the talent to pull it off because they already did but they haven’t been playing all that well down the stretch, but no such problems for Semarang. Semarang 38, SFC 13
#3 Krungthep Garudas (14-2) v #6 Hong Kong Huslters (10-6)
Previous Meeting: Krunghtep 54, HKH 24
Two long-time SEA stalwarts collide in the playoffs. Krungthep has been playing like the Age of Conan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cRCB1P_6UI as they demolish opponents by wide margins. HKH hasn’t been playing like they used to but they could just be coasting until the playoffs, making this potentially dangerous for fool and co. You know Semarang would love to see HKH second round more than Krungthep, but probably not going to happen. Krungthep 45, HKH 28
#4 Victoria Teabaggers (13-3) v #5 Woody Island Wolverines (11-5)
Previous Meeting: VT 24, WW 17
As the seedings suggest, this will most likely be the best first round game in Naga this season. These two teams have traditionally played fairly even and they fought close again in their first meeting this time around. In a Perfect World http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vY4VWszarBQ&feature=fvst for VT, they’d like to see another sirring victory, but they’ll have to work hard for it, just as WW will. VT 24, WW 21

#1 Buffalo Rampage (14-2) v #8 Buffalo Knights (9-7)
Previous Meeting: Rampage 16, Knights 7
The Knights looked to be in danger of missing the playoffs but they came up big in their week 15 showdown with Halifax. For the Rampage, it’s business as usual on or near the top of lolgaruda and they won’t be satisfied with anything less than Lord of the Rings http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIG07dl3_a8&feature=fvst in the conference. The Knights kept it close last time but they’ll need maximum effort to pull out the win as they usually lose the battle of Buffalo. Rampage 28, Knights 14
#2 New York Empire (14-2) v Krakow Kryptonite (10-6)
Previous Meeting: NYE 31, KK 30
NYE won a strange game by the slimmest of margins against KK last time out they know they’re in a dogfight in the first round, even out of the 2 spot. NYE made a nice playoff run before and would love to finish the job as Champions http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udxOjR8rTN8 this season for sure, but it’s a long road to the title game. Can KK shock them and stop their run right out of the gates? NYE 35, KK 28
#3 Wu Dang Kung Fu Academy (14-2) v #6 Mandalay King Cobras (11-5)
Previous Meeting: KFA 42, MKC 13
MKC is rewarded in their last week win over KK with a first round matchup against KFA. Too many acronyms? The first matchup wasn’t all that close and the Kung Fu boys have enjoyed their role as lolgaruda’s City of Villains http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_bpYYzJwCA to the fullest. It would take a lot for Mandalay to jump up and win this, but stranger things have happened in the SEA playoffs in the past. Wu 45, MKC 24
#4 Phu Khao Bow Chicka Brown Cows (13-3) v #5 Boston Bears (11-5)
Previous Meeting: Cows 28, Bears 20
The initial matchup between these two showed that the talent Rift http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9uCsZDace6o between them is not that big, but that’s what you would expect from a 4-5 game. Some feel the Cows were tanking a little bit in the regular season and eyeing the playoffs, but we’ll soon find out about that for sure. Can the Bears win their first ever SEA playoff game, or will it be the home team? Cows 28, Bears 24
