No, they don't. Equip it? You have to hit the "equip EQ" button to apply it. It'll make more sense when you have more
EQ and want to decide 'which' EQ to apply to your player.

Currently, and honestly: They're 'acceptible'. This game is attrocious (honestly) at indoctrinating new players and you've hit the cusp of savvy first timer and potential great and supreme pfft.
