I think it makes it better tbqh. A muffed punt happens in football. I'd make the defenders stop outside a certain radius of the returner to allow for the fair catch and it would also give the returner a chance, however slight, to recover it.

it could be better with the implementation of a fair catch but right now it doesnt and i have not heard of it happening any time soon. So since it does not exist the above play is horrible when like 3 defenders are on top of the dude not allowing him to catch the punt.

Im not even going to touch the horrible new DPC

in this game? i will admit i dont watch a ton of ST plays but i have never seen one and i know on my return men there is only an option for touchbacks and not fair catch threshold.

Yes Fair Catches happens all the time actually. Having a pretty wicked Special Teams on the Arena Rockers I actually watch it over there alot and have seen it a ton...but I have never seen a muff!

same here.. we force our fair share of fair catches too but thats the first time I've seen one muffed. I would think they could code in a bubble around the player until he muffs it though.

I saw a play in bugs a few days ago where the punting team surrounded the KR and then the ball just bounced back and they downed it...its def something that needs fixing because that play just sucked you linked above.
