Week 6 Predictions
Usual disclaimer: this is my opinion only. If you don’t like it, I still love you.
Since fps week was so popular, we’ll do strategy games week this time.
Naga
Game Of The Week
Palembang Drunken Monks (5-0) v Krungthep Garudas (5-0)
This is big time. These two teams have played each other for a long, long time and are most likely 2 of the top 3 teams in SEA this season, so it’s both historical and important for home field advantage in the second or third round of the playoffs. Which team will Command and Conquer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFoa5lEORE8 in this edition? I’m guessing whichever one makes one more stop, it should be that close. Monks 38, Garudas 35
Other Games
Semarang Red Bulls (5-0) v Sainte Foy Cyclones (2-3)
It’s been a rough start to the season for SFC and this will likely be another rough game, but the good news is that they should be able to go on a nice run after this and get right back in the playoff mix. I’m sure though they’re feeling like they’ve got to go to Alpha Centauri http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=035cpHEowS4 to find a win at this point, but keep that chin up. Semarang 56, SFC 24
Victoria Teabaggers (4-1) v Dayton Raiders (0-5)
VT is looking sharp this season. Very sharp. Dayton is probably feeling like this season is some post-apocalyptic event that has them living in a world with no true Civilization http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdJqSBd2Om8 VT 75, Dayton 3
The Outlaw Hustlers (4-1) v Woody Island Wolverines (4-1)
Both teams are 4-1 and both received their first loss last time out. TOH was stunned by a Smurf uprising and WW found out the Monks are serious this time. Or something. Whichever team hones their Warcraft http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svgO_XP5cYc for this one is looking good for a showdown with VT for that final playoff home game in Naga. WW 45, TOH 20
Hong Kong Hustlers (3-2) v Portland Dirty Penguins (1-4)
HKH has fallen on hard times with two straight losses and now they face old nemesis PDP. Unfortunately for PDP, this seems to be the year of the revenge tour. Err, where other teams take revenge on them. They better watch out for jolly rogers because it looks like Pirates! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G43AYE3C4LA are trying to board them again. HKH 38, PDP 28
Orlando Praying Mantis (3-2) v Royal Blue Drunken Smurfs of Funkalicious Labatt (1-4)
OPM is off to a surprisingly good start for a team with probably 50% CPU players. The Smurfs are young, but may have turned a corner last game in their upset of TOH. Just when people were starting to say the Smurf’s WL run was just in the Age of Mythology http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5gUGv2EuT4 Smurfs 35, OPM 28
Golden Hill Bones (2-3) v Dayton Blackhawks (0-5)
GHB is another good team that had a tough opening schedule, but now gets to a more manageable section where they can make their case for the playoffs. Dayton would like to pick up a win at some point to avoid relegation and it may only take 1 with the grouping of teams at the bottom of Naga. Unless Dayton is suddenly a Master of Magic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPnUd2kBcEo I don’t think they get that win here. GHB 40, Dayton 17
Benton Harbor Havoc (2-3) v Tibetan Drunk Monks (0-5)
BHH has struggled mightily against top tier teams, but they have handled lower tier teams very well and now get another one in TDM. No offense TDM, you guys haven’t exactly been the Master of Orion http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZNnZfYcpH0 thus far. Still time to turn it around and avoid relegation for TDM though. BHH 35, TDM 17

lolgaruda
Game of the Week
New York Empire (5-0) v Phu Khao Bow Chicka Brown Cows (4-1)
It’s a rare and fun week indeed when both Naga and lolgaruda have a fantastic GoTW and that’s what we have here. We’re about to find out who’s most likely to get the #1 seed in the conference. So, even though it’s lolregular season, this game could be big if they meet in the conference championship game later on. Only one loss combined here and that was to another elite team and not by much. The winner can strap on those Wings of Liberty http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PfkVeI7AiA because they’re almost sure to be #1. NYE 38, Cows 35
Other Games
Halifax Harpoons (4-1) v Buffalo Rampage (4-1)
Once again, just like in Naga, we have a matchup of 4-1 teams that could decide which one ends up with a home playoff game later on. I keep thinking Halifax is not for real and I keep picking against them. And I keep getting it wrong. I’d hate to jinx them by picking them to win here. I guess my Dawn of Discovery http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0Elnm0Vwac that Halifax is actually very good is not here yet. Buffalo 42, Halifax 28
Krakow Kryptonite (4-1) v Praha Velvet Revolution (0-5)
My adopted lolgaruda team KK is in action against a PVR team that has looked about as good as revolutionaries as Tom Cruise in Operation Valkryie. Ya, that’s not good, but keep plugging away guys, you’ll get better. Not this week though as this is likely to be more of a Blood Bowl http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKq-aA4eRJs than a revolution. KK 85, PVR 3
Boston Bears (3-2) v Atlantic Great Whites (1-4)
The newest member of the top 10 power poll, Boston gets a team that is much better than their record indicates in AGW. Will they be one week power poll wonders, or will they build upon that success and keep it going? Well, if they keep building enough restrooms in their Sim City http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXBrMyOzApo err stadium, they should be fine. Boston 30, AGW 24
Mandalay King Cobras (3-2) v Wu Dang Kung Fu Academy (3-2)
This has the potential to be yet another very good game. Why are they all in one week? This could also be a very important game as the loser will have an uphill climb to get back into the playoff race as fighting for those 7 and 8 spots looks to be pretty fierce in lolgaruda. We’ll see which team brings their Starcraft http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30MBljXxg3M to the field in this one. Ya, I know that doesn’t make much sense, but you didn’t think I could leave out Starcraft did you? Wu 28, Mandalay 24
Tanzania Lumberjacks (3-2) v Island of Misfit Toys (1-4)
Tanzanai had a disappointing showing against an underrated Halifax team, but now they have a nice shot to get right back into the thick of the playoff picture against a team that has struggled mightily thus far this season in IMT. TL hopes to be playing like an Incredible Machine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kl7hT2GiO5E by season’s end. TL 42, IMT 20
Buffalo Knights (2-3) v Chaotic Crew (2-3)
The Knights have lost 3 straight, very surprisingly. CC is about where I thought they’d be at this point. This game will decide which one of them wants to make a run at the playoffs, if they can. It’s not the Seven Cities of Gold http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKL1g-0IavY but the playoffs are still a big deal. Buffalo 45, CC 13
Awendaw Toadfish (0-5) v Mandanum CPU (CPU)
If Awendaw can pick up a couple of wins and avoid relegation, they could build into a SEAPL contender in a couple of seasons. Abusing this CPU team would be a good start. If it were EEPL where they regularly lose to CPU teams, I’d be worried. This isn’t quite Battle Chess http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKcZwPb7C3k in terms of strategy, it’s more kick it off and run them over. Awendaw 75, CPU 3
Usual disclaimer: this is my opinion only. If you don’t like it, I still love you.
