I hate losing. The only thing I hate more than losing is not winning. However, I started doing these, so I'm not gonna let a loss stop me now.

There were several games that went differently than I expected, so there will be more shuffling of teams this week. There were several very good and close games, so check them out if you have time to watch.

Let's get this thing started.

Top Ten

#1 (Last Week: 1) - Cypriot Freedom (5-0) - Once again, Cypriot showed why they are ranked #1. The win over Devonport puts them in great shape to get the top seed. The only team left that I think could challenge them is Banzai. That game is not until Week 15, so it should be smooth sailing for Cypriot for a while. Next opponent: Death Dealers (Prediction - Cypriot by 28)

#2 (Last Week: 3) - Asau Pirates (5-0) - Asau keeps on rolling thru Zeta, as they posted a huge win over Addict Nation, doubling up on my predicted point margin. Expect more of the same this week. Next opponent: San Diego Supa Chargers (Prediction - Asau by 70+)

#3 (Last Week: 4) - Banzai Pipeline Nites (5-0) - Banzai also was very impressive, as they won a blowout over Volgograd. I'm not real sure who is better between Banzai and Devonport. The two teams play in two weeks, so for now I'll just stick to my prior approach and rank Banzai at 3 until that game settles it. However, that may be putting the cart before the horse, as Banzai has a tough opponent this week, in 6th Street. Next opponent: 6th Street Savage Swarm (Prediction - Banzai by 21)

#4 (Last Week: 2) - Devonport Devils (4-1) - Devonport lost a close one to Cypriot, but played them as close as anyone else has, so we do not drop that far. Devonport gets to take a trip to Hong Kong before facing off with their 4th top 5 opponent in 3 games. Next opponent: Hong Kong Voodoo (Prediction - Devonport by alot)

#5 (Last Week: 5) - Eastern European Alliance (4-1) - EEA took care of business against an Oregon team that continues to impress and rise up the rankings. Now they face Sumatra. If they want to maintain their spot in the top 5 they will need to win this game. This is a hard one to pick. Next opponent: Sumatra Sea Hawks (Prediction - EEA by 3)

#6 (Last Week: 6) - Sin City Silent Assassins (4-1) - As with several teams, Sin City had a battle this week, but came out victorious. Death outgained them but Sin got a takeaway while Death was in the redzone, which helped ended up being huge. Still with the game stats, I considered dropping Sin under Sumatra, but Sin beat Gold Coast by more than Sumatra, so they keep the 6 spot for this week. Next opponent - 8 Mile Assault (Prediction - Sin City by alot)

#7 (Last Week: 7) - Sumatra Sea Hawks (5-0) - What do you know. Another top 10 team that won a closely fought game. They stay at #7, but have a very tough challenge this week. If they can beat EEA, they should move into the top 5. Next opponent: Eastern Europe Alliance (Prediction: EEA by 3)

#8 (Last Week: 8) - 6th Street Savage Swarm (3-2) - A 100 point thumping of Hong Kong keeps 6th in the 8 spot. They have a tough matchup this week against Banzai. A win might move them into the top 5. Next opponent: Banzai Pipeline 'Nites (Prediction - Banzai by 21)

#9 (Last Week: 9) - Bora Bora Bangaroos (3-2) - Much like 6th above, Bora thumped their opponent by a bunch and stay at #9. They will be tested this week as Stockholm comes to town. Next opponent: Stockholm Black Death (Prediction - Bora Bora by 28)

#10 (12) - Death Dealers (3-2) - Someone posted in my previous write-up that I should have left Death in the top 10, and based on their game against Sin City, I think they were right. Thus, Death gets bumped back into the top 10. Now they get to face Cypriot. Who knows where they will be ranked after that one, as I keep shuffling 10 thru 18 around every week. Next opponent: Cypriot Freedom (Prediction - Cypriot by 28)

The Rest of the Pack
#11 (11) - Gold Coast Micheline Men (3-2)
#12 (14) - Stockholm Black Death (4-1)
#13 (16) - Oregon Ducks (3-2)
#14 (15) - Boston Bulldogs (2-3)
#15 (18) - Indianola Longhorn Legends (3-2)
#16 (10) - Offtopica Miracle (3-2)
#17 (13) - IC Incinerators (2-3)
#18 (17) - Gold Coast Vipers (2-3)
#19 (19) - San Diego Supa Chargers (3-2)
#20 (20) - Saipan Sin-Eaters (2-3)
#21 (23) - Oberon Bulls (2-3)
#22 (21) - Hong Kong Voodoo (1-4)
#23 (22) - Volgograd Black Army (1-4)
#24 (24) - Addict Nation (1-4)
#25 (25) - 8 Mile Assault (1-4)
#26 (26) - Tasmanian Muskrats (2-3)
#27 (27) - Florida BeachDogZ (1-4)
#28 (28) - Urban Super Dogs (1-4)
#29 (29) - Fortaleza Prowlers (1-4)
#30 (32) - Tasmanian Devils (1-4)
#31 (30) - Warriors of Oceania (0-4)
#32 (31) - Motown Legends (0-4)

After that embarrassment, not much else to say.

First half I was handling it

Second half my guys lay down and stop playing.

Moral meltdown seemed like.

GCMM always a fun match up.

Sometimes more fun than others.

Good stuff. Expecting a spanking from EEA. I have sent some starbucks gift cards to HCreek and TBCE. I have also sent Otega a golf pass to the local pitch and putt. And I have sent bug my usual pre-game gift of a bag of manure lit on fire on his porch.
Now it is just a matter of making my sacrifice to Jobu and crossing my fingers.

Bora Bora will NOT beat Stockholm by 28. Mark it down. Not calling for a Black Death win necessarily, but no way in hell will it be that lopsided. I guaran-damn-tee it.

I will (and have) readily admit that I don't know where to rank you guys. If you beat Bora, you will very likely in the top 10 though. If I were doing the write-up now (after your victory over Humboldt), I would probably pick the score differently, but I'm not gonna change it now. Just don't go and lose by a bunch, or their will be some crow to eat.

We are 1-2 against Bora Bora and the widest margin of defeat has been 11 points. Like I said, I won't do anything stupid like "guarantee a victory" because I have waaaay to much respect for the Bangaroos... but if they beat us by four touchdowns it will be because of a seriously messed up sim (morale spiral turnover fest).

ETA - I'll happily take my crow grilled with some Sticky Fingers BBQ sauce for dipping if we do get blown out.

Nice work as usual Plank!!

I think it would have been fair to keep Devonport #2 after only losing by one score (game that went right down to the wire) to the #1 team. Excited about the Devels/'Nites game but as you said 6th St is a tough matchup... in fact we could very well go 0-3 over our next three games.

Thanks again for doing these!!

Agreed, until we play some of the big dogs, we should have been kept below Devonport. Our schedule really starts to pick up here, so we will see what our team is made of soon.

Great job as usual Plank!

I pretty much planned to move Asau to #2 regardless. Alpha may have pimp slapped Zeta 12 - 4, but the top of Zeta are still good teams. You guys are playing good dotball tho, so I figured it was fair to bump you up. Doesn't mean I won't pick us to win when we face each other

No crow for me. Didn't get the win but came about as close as possible. Hope we see the Roos again cause I think we'll get 'em next time.... we're due.
