If anyone else wants to do these, there is room for two or I will be glad to step down. However, until anyone else does, I'll keep at it.

There were some pretty good games in Week 1 and a bit of shifting in the ranks as things sort themselves out. However, most of the top 10 is the same.

Top Ten

#1 (Last Week: 1) - Cypriot Freedom (2-0) - Cypriot retains the top spot after getting another solid win over a playoff caliber team. They will be facing their third playoff caliber team in as many games in Week 3, but I expect they will take care of business yet again. Next opponent - VOLGOGRAD BLACK ARMY (Prediction - Cypriot by 35)

#2 (Last Week: 2) - Sin City Silent Assassins (2-0) - Looks like Sin City is Cypriot's scout team, as they play the same teams, just one week sooner. VBA gave Sin City a run for their money, but Sin City pulled out the win. They face an even tougher opponent (imo) this week, so they better bring their A game if they want to stay in the top 5 in Week 3. Next opponent - 6th Street Savage Swarm (Prediction - Sin City by 7)

#3 (Last Week: 3) - Devonport Devils (2-0) - I'm running out of different ways to say the same thing. Just like the two teams above, Devonport followed up a good week 1 win with another good win in week 2. Boston and Devonport have some history (although it is all friendly), so this was a key win in more ways than one. Next opponent - Bora Bora Bangaroos (Prediction - Devonport by 21)

#4 (Last Week: 4) - Asau Pirates (2-0) - I think Asau is irritated that I have them at #4 and they took it out on their week 2 opponent. To be honest, if they keep beating playoff teams by 50, I am going to have to move them up. However, for now, they are held back by the relative weakness of lolzeta. Next opponent - Indianola Longhorn Legends (Prediction - Asau by 40)

#5 (Last Week: 5) - Eastern European Alliance (1-1) - These guys are neck and neck with #6 BNP, and the results this week were nearly identical. The schedule stays easy for a few weeks, which could help them stay in the top 5, or could open the door for teams with a tougher opening schedule. Next opponent - Oberon Bulls (Prediction - EEA by 60)

#6 (Last Week: 6) - Banzai Pipeline Nites (2-0) - See write-up for EEA. The big difference is that their next couple of opponents are tougher, which could allow BNP to grab the #5 slot if they continue to win big. Next opponent - Offtopica Miracle (Prediction - Banzai by 20)

#7 (Last Week: 7) - Death Dealers (2-0) - Another week, another blowout win for Death. However, the schedule just got tougher for them, as they face 4 straight playoff caliber teams. That means they have lots of opportunities to prove they are better than #7 or to drop out of the top 10. Next opponent - Boston Bulldogs (Prediction - Death by 10)

#8 (Last Week: 8) - Sumatra Sea Hawks (2-0) - Sumatra stays at #8 after beating a playoff team in week 2. That was an odd game where the stats make it look like Sumatra beat the crap out of IC, but the box score shows that it took a late TD to make it a double digit margin of victory. Regardless, Sumatra stays at #8 for this week. Next opponent - Addict Nation (Prediction - Sumatra by 27)

#9 (Last Week: 11) - 6th Street Savage Swarm (2-0) - 6th debuts in the top 10 following a tight win over Bora Bora. 6th Street has done a great job of reloading for Season 20. They get the chance to show just how much they have improved in Week 3. Otherwise, their time in the top 10 may be short lived. Next opponent - Sin City Silent Assassins (Prediction - Sin City by 7)

#10 (Last Week: 14) - Offtopica Miracle (2-0) - The choice for #10 was tough, but I gave the nod to OT based on a larger margin of victory over Oberon and not having a loss yet. After two straight seasons missing the playoffs, it looks like Offtopica has put together a team that could break that string and make some noise in Season 20. Much like 6th above, their stay in the top 10 could be short lived as they have a tough week 3 game. Next opponent - Banzai Pipeline Nites (Prediction - Banzai by 20)

The Rest of the Pack
#11 (10) - Gold Coast Vipers (1-1)
#12 (9) - Bora Bora Bangaroos (1-1)
#13 (13) - Gold Coast Micheline Men (1-1)
#14 (17) - Boston Bulldogs (1-1)
#15 (20) - Volgograd Black Army (1-0)
#16 (12) - IC Incinerators (1-1)
#17 (21) - San Diego Supa Chargers (2-0)
#18 (15) - Indianola Longhorn Legends (1-1)
#19 (18) - Oregon Ducks (1-1)
#20 (19) - Stockholm Black Death (1-1)
#21 (22) - Hong Kong Voodoo (0-2)
#22 (16) - Saipan Sin-Eaters (0-2)
#23 (24) - Oberon Bulls (0-2)
#24 (25) - Addict Nation (0-2)
#25 (23) - 8 Mile Assault (0-2)
#26 (29) - Fortaleza Prowlers (1-1)
#27 (26) - Florida BeachDogZ (0-2)
#28 (27) - Tasmanian Muskrats (0-2)
#29 (30) - Urban Super Dogs (1-1)
#30 (28) - Warriors of Oceania (0-2)
#31 (31) - Motown Legends (0-2)
#32 (32) - Tasmanian Devils (0-2)

Sumatra getting 3 FF recoveries certainly helped their cause in week 2 as it could have been a lot closer game than it was, plus my new D AI isn't completely finished yet and certain formations gave us a bit of trouble, but they will be mostly resolved before our next tough game.

Edit: For the record, I still think Sumatra is the better team, but IC is on the rise as well.

Saving the screenshot of when we were mentioned in the top 10. We are better than last season, but so is everybody else. If we stay within 7 points of *edit Sin City*, I'll consider that a moral vicotry.

Thanks for the great writeup Plankton!

TBH, I agree with you. It is real hard to differentiate #9 - #16 at this point. It will sort itself out over time.

Nice writeup once again Plankton.

I really like these vs computer rankings. Plus you definitely have a good idea of where teams should be ranked. Knowing the history of some of these teams helps. I like how you have not penalized teams bigtime for a loss against tough teams. Also you are not just catapulting teams to the top for blowout wins against weaker opponents.

Keep up the good work.

This is totally and completely LOL at this point...but 6th Street is currently ranked 11th...in GLB. 2 spots behind Devonport.

There are about 50 teams that would demolish us, and I'm hoping not to get a inbox full of hungry scrim offers.

LOL, OT is 21st, with a Strength of Schedule of 0.39858. Worse one by far up there. But lots of wins and no losses in ranked play helped apparently.

Highest we have ended on that list is 72, few seasons back.

Yes, and we had a promotion going as well. On a neutral field I think you guys win the same number as us.

Maybe AFTER I get the D AI finished, but not today.

I usually pull miracles out of my ass come recruiting time (and did to an extent), but not getting some key defensive players led me to recreating a whole new AI and a bunch more DPC plays that I got a late start on.

Hopefully we will get another shot in the playoffs.
