Has anyone noticed if a HB returner is any better at returning than say a WR or a CB?

they would be just as good if they have the same build... the only real difference would be weight and height. if you are talking about which one would be better to make as far as efficiency goes, there are pros and cons for HBs, CBs, and WRs.

CBs are nice because they can be lighter (supposedly slightly faster), and they have FS, CD, and RS all right in a row. then grab spin as the extra and you wont have to waste any SP in SAs you dont need. they are also cheaper to maintain as far as flex goes.

HBs are nice because there is more flexibility with them. it is a lot easier to go with spin or fakes (since they have both), so you dont have to worry about deciding right away... or you could even do both. they have a lot og good returning SAs. they also will perform better in their natural HB role than a CB returner would as a CB, or a WR returner would as a WR. You also have the nice option of going with an elusive archetype and getting .5 ALGs instead of the .4 ALGs.

WRs, much like HBs have both spin and fakes. but they wont perform as good as a HB when it comes to offensive play. i think WR is the worst option as it doesnt really have any advantages over HB.

HBs have the better SAs and a better chance of rolling premium AEQ in the store.

WRs have less expensive access to the Spin SA, which many folks like to pimp.

CBs are arguably the worst position to use for returners, but they are economical from a flex point persepective.

Agreed, although not by much imho. If they start their bonus SA off with Spin and focus their four AEQ (which any good player should be able to attain) then that's bonus SA's toward more Spin and Return Spec.

Their majors though are the tricky part, but the irony is I'm fine with speed in the 120's (over guys who like it in the 130's) so my return guy doesn't outrun his blocks. This provides my return man more emphasize in carrying and agility - both crucial for more Spins.
