I don't understand why you make your cb's so slow?

edit: this isn't intended to be accusatory or insulting rather a real question regarding why you (somebody who builds a LOT of cbs) always keep your cb's speeds lower than a lot of the 'elite' builders. (mods been after me lately)

Once he is done, that build should end up with roughly 135-138 speed. (5 more pts from ALG and 17-20 from equipment)

While slower than a lot of people are building, he might be able to make up for the 5 - 10 pt hit in speed by having higher secondaries and with SAs.

Actually, IIRC, he'll have around 140 speed. And as for bug's question, because they don't need to be that fast. People still think that CBs have to be as fast as WRs to keep up. That's simply untrue. Even when we get full archetype/multi-train WRs in the future, I doubt elite CBs will need more than 140-145 speed to keep up. Anything over that will be wasted points.

17 tackling is

maybe went overkill with vision, I like the high jumping.

so are we arguing that those of us who took speed and agility to a natural 83 (with that generation of dots) wasted sp's because they won't need to be 145/90's or are we saying that the 135/85's are going to be pretty much the same?

I'd rather have the speed anyway.

Yeah I don't have a defensive dot < lvl 50 who didn't take speed to 87.
Got a few who trained from 81-83 and then from 87-90, they should be pretty sick.

He's a level 50. Tackling should be lol for this style of build at that level. He'll end up with approximately 42, IIRC, end-build. Barring any huge sim changes, that should be plenty.

It depends the position, but for a coverage CB? Yeah, I'd say going 83/83 is way overboard and a waste of sps. If you isolate 145/90 vs 135/85 (though my cbs will be more like 140/85 to 140/90), the higher attributes are better. But when you factor in the higher secondaries, SAs, and %AEQ the latter CB will have, he will have better performance. Even if you were to completely neglect the interception attributes (catching, SH, INT%) in order to save sps, Going higher than 77/77/77 will hurt your build balance. Speed, agility, and vision aren't the only attributes that CBs need.

Maybe the old way. You need a calculator and an excel spreadsheet and a vpb unless you plan on taking tackling stamina and confidence >61.

Similar to this guy http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1814301
You have significantly > STR, VIS, CATCH, SDC, INT% Chance
You have significantly < JUMP, STAM, TCK (27 vs 17---meh shit is shit i guess )
Everything else is ballpark similar...

I think i like this type of build for now but believe it will be less effective as time goes on...
We'll see man.
