If you get to the very end of your career and have nothing left to train, blocking may be worthwhile. The description says it supposedly makes breaking blocks a little easier. I built mine up a little on a DE but never put SP's into it. Did it make a difference? Who knows.

It's a good place to train if you want to increase your EL score at the end of your career and can't get any increases in stamina/confidence etc.

when I was a noob (like season 1), it was commonly thought that blocking helped break blocks. Don't do it though

I even remember a quote from Bort sayin that it helped to break blocks as well.
tried raising it as high as 50 on one of my DE's.
didn't help do squat.
