Back in high school I lived in an area that the parents left for extended weekends so what do HS kids do...Party of course.
We always had live music at the Friday night keggars with a ton of aspiring HS wannabes. This is a band from our school that actually made it big.
Hope you enjoy the video, very Floyd-like.
The song was written by a friend of mine, Chris DeGarmo (Queensryche):

This one has some amazing vocals starting at about 1:11 of the song:

So you are throwing out Queensryche as a new band....or did your stint in Alaska Last that Freaking long.

Also here are a Few decent songs by them, if you are a fan of late 80's hair bands, as opposed to their Horribad example you started with.

I read the OP by King and I can't see where you get 'new band' from coachviking???

Anyway, nice story King. I went to the same school as Reggie Bush. He was 2 years ahead and I didn't know him personally, but still something.

Used to party a bit with Color Me Badd in OKC when they were on the rise. We used to party at their home recording studio on NW 33rd here in OKC.

Queensryche is a great band, Operation Mindcrime is one of the best albums ever.

I played around in the music scene for a few years while studying to become a chef. Was great times. The band I was in was called Lock n' Load. We have played with Hinder, The Flaming Lips and few other bands that went on to do more than ourselves. We had a Jim Morrison clone as lead singer that couldn't hold his liquor. He got drunk and fell off stage onto Sony Music executives that were there checking out a few bands for possible recording contracts. That was the night my bass playing ended and I decided to quit the band. Besides really pissing off the other bands attending, thought our singer wouldn't last the night.

Also, caught Vince Gill and Amy Grant making out in the corner beside my office back in 2000 at the Vince Gill Celebrity Golf Tournament when I was executive sous chef/purchasing director at OKC Golf and Country Club. Scared the total shit out of them, they were married but not to each other yet. Should have taken a picture and got paid... lol
