+1,
rofl @ glb making these anouncements the day OF the new season. after we have all created our team rosters
It is still going to work on deep routes, if the explanation rings true then Pump Fake received absolutely no negative effects, the play call selection for those "chunk it deep" guys as you so crudely put it have just changed up.
I imagine the meaning of it is one of two things:
1) Pretty much the defense CAN'T be pump faked on a streak route.
2) A receiver who at the moment in time is running straight down field draws the attention of the corner and thus he can't be pump faked.
2 makes more sense as far as realism, but 1 is as likely.
Either way teams will STILL be able to pump fake their way down the field, it will just be in a different fashion.

You're probably correct on #1, and it does make sense with no one really playing zone. What I don't get is why pump fake isn't linked to the route/play. I mean if you call Slot In N Up (Shotgun), shouldn't pump fake fire as WR3 makes his move in? That would force the secondary to bite (if they go for the fake) and then leave WR3 open when he turns back up. IMO, SA's like that should be linked to the play.
