Does that mean it doesn't fire on any routes?

Basically, on deep streaks where CB is 1 on 1 pump fake won't trigger, but it could trigger on the FS/SS if they're in zone on said receiver.

Some testing required for sure.

Haha now scouting will come back into play. No more chucking it 50 times a game and getting TDs on bogus pump fakes. Nice fix IMO

So you're saying you built your team based upon known bugs/exploits? Pretty sad...

Pump fake will still work, I wouldn't get to worried about that. It just won't work on the deep routes like it used to.

And I invested in it already too Osiris so I'm hoping what I said above is right! ^^;

It is still going to work on deep routes, if the explanation rings true then Pump Fake received absolutely no negative effects, the play call selection for those "chunk it deep" guys as you so crudely put it have just changed up.

I imagine the meaning of it is one of two things:

1) Pretty much the defense CAN'T be pump faked on a streak route.

2) A receiver who at the moment in time is running straight down field draws the attention of the corner and thus he can't be pump faked.

2 makes more sense as far as realism, but 1 is as likely.

Either way teams will STILL be able to pump fake their way down the field, it will just be in a different fashion.

You're probably correct on #1, and it does make sense with no one really playing zone. What I don't get is why pump fake isn't linked to the route/play. I mean if you call Slot In N Up (Shotgun), shouldn't pump fake fire as WR3 makes his move in? That would force the secondary to bite (if they go for the fake) and then leave WR3 open when he turns back up. IMO, SA's like that should be linked to the play.

Remember that they said "streak" plays, but I doubt slants are considered streaks, so all those popular slant plays will become even more popular.
