comes the latest and greatest way to enhance your GLB pleasure.
This should add extra value to your flex while allowing you to ease the difficult transition
of saying goodbye to those old dots you've become way too attached to.
What is Geriatric League Underground?
Basically, this a retirement community for those dots you just don't want to let go.
Just like other Underground leagues, we'll create the schedule and play those games as scrimmages (friendlies)
How does it work?
The schedule will be released in the offseason and team owners start sending friendlies in the preseason.
The home team sends the friendly to the visiting team and games are played every other day.
When does it start?
The first season will be season 20.
What does the winning teams get?
Mostly, they get bragging rights.
They will also get a fancy trophy .gif to display on their team page.
But seriously, this league isn't about the glory.
It's about hanging onto those dots we've grown to love and making them somehow relevant again despite their accelerating decline.

What are the advantages of this type of league?
♦ Rivalries - Since the league will be run manually, all teams involved should be playing each other every season.
There are no team promotions or demotions.
♦ Level Playing Field - League rules have been established so that all teams have an equal opportunity to succeed.
As we continue, using a draft-only format will ensure league parity.
♦ Cheaper Alternative - Since all the players involved will be old as dirt and past their plateau, they won't be able to boost anymore.
But that doesn't mean they can't have a little fun for free.
♦ New Strategies - While many aspects of GLB have already been played out, managing an old team that can actually compete will be fairly new.
The draft should also provide another aspect to the game that be more relevant here than anywhere else.
♦ Forum Activity - Lets be honest, agents just don't post in the forums like they used to.
But with the same teams and agents involved every season, this will probably provide a good way to keep in touch and talk a little sh!t at the same time.
♦ Less Work - While some agents greatly enjoy running an offense and defense with AI, this would probably be a complete waste of time with declining dots. Going Casual here only makes sense.
What are the rules?
1 - Players must be 560 days or older in the offseason
2 - New players to the league must enter the draft pool.
3 - After being drafted, a player can stay with that team as long as he wants.
If he wants to leave the team, he goes back into the draft pool.
4 - Casual teams only. Regular teams using casual tactics will not be allowed.
5 - All teams will mention the Geriatrics League in their Team Note
6 - Teams will not be allowed to use coaches
7 - Scrimmages will be sent using the following options:
. . . . . [ X ] This friendly is ranked and should be taken seriously
. . . . . [ ]
. . . . . [ X ] Use playoff-style overtime rules
. . . . . [ X ] Enable home team abilities
. . . . . [ ]
What is required from agents and owners?
♦ Agents - All we expect from the agents of GLU is a commitment to see it through and play by the established rules.
We hope agents will be active in the league forum, but that's not required or expected.
♦ Owners - The owners of GLU need to understand that their team could cost as much as 800 flex each season.
That's 400 for the team and up to 400 additional flex for scrimmages.
They also need to be active enough to accept and send scrimmages when required.
