If someone has a second, can you glance at this boxscore of my team's last game?

I'm tryin' to figure out why there's such a disparity in the performance of my QB (Julian Stanley) and the other QB. I don't think there's "that much" difference between the two - yet the other QB out-performs me week-to-week it seems.

I know this is just "one game" - but there's been other like this.

Here's the game :
http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=1395875

My build is OPEN - and I had to type out the build of the other QB.

STR:79
SPD:14
AGL:35
JMP:14
STM:49
VIS:79
CON:54
BLK:8
TCK:8
THR:104
CTH:14
CRY:17
KCK:10
PNT:8

SA's :
pocket presence - 1
tight spiral - 1
pump fake - 1
turn shoulder - 1
field general - 1

BONUS :
Draw offsides chance +20%
Quick release chance +50%
Pass distance +13%

VA's
hard count - 4
quick release -10

I think I'm "as good" if not "better" than him. Am I nuts?

What's making him out-perform me?

Is there anything I can do better?.......or work on more?

Please advise.

.....and thanks in advance for takin' the time to look at this.

two obvious things:

#1 all your throws are coming in low. your tactics probably aren't set very well for the build.
i'm assuming your slider is way more towards bullet and open man then lofty and route dist.
balancing that a bit more you might have less underthrown balls if you put a bit of air under them.

#2 5 dropped passes in the 1st half couldn't have helped.
some of them were underthrown, but still some catches there make the stats look way better.
it could be also that since you are back-up, you might be on the field with the back-up
O-linemen and WRs, and they might not be carrying there weight either.

its tough to tell, with out seeing your tactics or any other games...
tactics is the first area you can address, so i'd start with that.

I was set at -30 towards the BULLET side.

I am set at -80 "open man"

...and the "throw away threshold" was set at : aggressive ; throw the ball away if everyone is heavily covered.

I'm gonna try to set it more towards lofty. I got nothing to lose really.

i have open man at -18.
i never mess with the bullet lofty, becuz Tif still isn't very strong.
besides, sometimes you need to put some touch on a pass. don't be like Deric Anderson lol

i think the open man is too far.
that would be like almost every pass is a stop route.
so i'm thinking that maybe you are not underthrowing WRs so much as throwing it right to where they are,
instead of right to where they are about to be... so they 'overrun the ball'
i'd think balancing that open man slider will fix the problem
it doesn't have to be all the way in the center, just a bit more reasonable,
so you are more productive in the average situation instead of just the extremes.

That's beautiful...............again - thank you so much!

..............and Derrick Anderson wasn't good when he was great!

....and when you're job is being threatened by a guy named Max Hall, you know you're in trouble. Whoooooooo???

It seems as if Darncat nailed the tactics question, addressing the immediate needs of your QB.

With no EQ giving PQ bonuses, 1 in Tight Spiral (this is where it should be at this point. Leave it until build is more developed), and a slightly lower than should be throwing level, this explains a good deal of your issues. Some can't be addressed immediately, but need to be looked at long term.

Along more long term ramifications, you may consider addressing your throwing level. With EQ, it should be 110-115 with EQ by level 48 with a pocket passer, even one whose build is more of a deep passer. I noticed that although your archetype is pocket passer, his build (strength) looks somewhat like a deep passer (also evidenced by AEQ choice of pass distance), though I'd buy a +5% PQ piece ASAP.

that's not his build you are looking at; he closed his as his issue was resolved.

for level 40, I'd say his throwing atts are above the curve...
i would agree, as i always suggest, to pick up some PQ AEQ.
Just in general this is an essential item for QBs IMO

My guy has been having the same issues. I took the liberty of adjusting his settings as recommended above. I hope it works out as well for me as it did for babygrandhigh. If that's so...thank you in advance.

it didnt work so well for him on the last game unfortunately...

but, the OC needs to do some work, cuz it was a terrible GP up against a zone defense.
all the throws were deep, no intermediates under the deep routes to attack the zone,
and even tho the RB was wide open all game, no passes to him.

i'd say maybe favor dump offs in a situation like that, but who can say?
i never saw the RB even targeted in the reads once!
so my next suggestion is the OC custom some read progressions, so they don't suck.
the defaults in this game usually aren't the way to go. every last detail must be heeded.
that might be why now they're talkin bout simplifying the AI.
but, i hope they don't.

these days, a coaching staff in GLB has to know football inside and out,
or learn fast, or the team will suffer.
i think thats a good thing overall. i thought i knew evrything about the game;
now i realize how much there is to know.
