Congratulations to Fat Chick Harpooners for winning the Sunset PW Tournament! Runner-up Flump O-Rama also deserves a huge kudos for their play!
I'm riding off into the 'Sunset' and wanted to give back to the PW community, so please take this as a small token of thanks for a couple years of fun...mainly on the forums because we all know the frustration of the sim and all things PW related. My biggest regret will be missing out on the Crib Midgets trip to Gold, but I know they'll get there at some point and the tough competition they have faced will ultimately serve them well.
ADDED: We are now in the semi-finals and matches will take place over the next couple days. Congratulations to the Sunset Final Four; Crib Midgets, Flump O-Rama, Fat Chick Harpooners, and Masters of Mayhem.
Structure
- 8, 16 or 32 teams, depending on how many teams want in.
- Single match bracket style with two 'conferences' of play.
- Games to be played every few days, with the first round to be scheduled anytime Day 1-4 of Season 18.
- Conferences will be randomly selected, as well initial conference seeding.
Please take note of the above; it means that at most it will take 5 wins to capture this title, and it also means a lot of scheduling in a short amount of time.
Restrictions
- Non-boosting.
- Non-CE tournament. MUST un-equip any CE.
- Open to all PW leagues.
- Games to be played on schedule with the exception of title game.
- Roster must include a minimum of 50 non-CPU players. (new)
This tournament has been structured to be completed quickly, and the last round of games will be completed as teams reach lvl 5. This is a common boosting point so if both conference champs want to play the title game boosted (lvl 8 with EQ upgrades) they may do so.
Prizes
- Sunset Champion = 3000 flex.
- Sunset runner up = 1000 flex.
- Sunset third place = 500 flex.
Trophies will be awarded to the above teams, plus fourth place.
Other key notes
- Sign up here, but take note that signing up does not guarantee participation unless you are one of the first 8 teams; I am unsure of how many teams this tournament will have so I can't make any promises.
- Missed games can only be rescheduled if neither team has levelled up, otherwise it will result in a forfeit.
- If both teams in the missed game have levelled, I will make allow the game to be made up only if it does not screw up the schedules for the teams that played their games on time.
Final words
I realise that such a tournament won't result in spectacular play since the games will be held when players are at lvl 1 - 5, but it allows me to give back to some of the people and teams that I have had the pleasure of getting to know the past few years. It's not a perfect tournament by any stretch, and I will do my best to ensure it all goes smoothly and quickly.

The bracket schedule shows the Round 1 matchups, and the days they must be scheduled in. Teams should schedule their games promptly and so that teams are playing at roughly the same overall level; this was my intent but it ultimately comes down to you guys. The season hasn't started but teams can start thinking about their first games and remember this is non-boost and non-CE so leave adequate time between your regular season games and tournament games to unequip any CE (to avoid forfeiting your game).
