Spin just seems so valuable in the run game and ST's, that I'm tempted to try it, even with the penalty. I guess the true question is how big of a penalty does a red SA have?

No one knows. I would suggest not using skill points to raise Spin, and whether or not you get it through AEQ depends on how many pieces you end up with. The first two for any power back should definitely be break tackle pieces, and then a third can either go into Power Through or Spin.

I wouldn't do it. You need to have 78+ agility along with the Strength and Carrying. So if your agility is not high there is no reason in wasting the SP on Spin.

Most PB's these days have mid 70's AGI and mid 80's CAR along with 90-115 STR and 120 SPD.
If you can raise it without too much cost to the rest of your build I don't think it'd be too bad, but you better be prepared to run on elusive to get the bonus to spin firing from the elusive slider, because if you aren't going to do that it's not worth it.

my power back has about 20 more strength than agility, has 3 in a RED spin and 6 in a green power thru, he runs on 50% power, and spin fires about 4x more.

Your mid 70's agi, mid 80's carrying, 115 strength, 120 speed HB is welcome on my team

Use AEQ. Don't use SP.

He must have neglected vision and confidence to get it that high.

if you ask me, a powerback should have 2 pieces of 5% break tackle AEQ. That doesn't leave enough for the spin and I'm always scared of putting SPs into most SAs, although spin is one of the safer ones, but ya never know in this game!

I'm curious about spin too... it just seems it fires so often that I'm sure there'll be ANOTHER nerf to it in the not too distant future.

Considering that your running slider setting is correlated to how effective Spin is (-100 gives you the biggest bonus while +100 gives u the worst), unless you plan on running -90 or higher you can probably find a better place to invest your SP's.
