Has anyone ever tried putting some training into jumping just for the lols of annoying a QB with PDs at the line? Does anyone know how effective it is (if at all)? Like you put a ton of SPs into Swat Ball, get Deflect Chance eq, and up your jumping a little? The problem is no ALGs, but towards the tail end of a build it might not kill it. That's why I wouldn't want to test it though, because you'd have to spend a lot of time, and if it doesn't work you've kinda made someone completely useless.

How incredibly amazing would this DT be though? (Or of course, how awful?)

Make him tall and invest in towering man.

You would need a lot of strength to prevent being caked..

This.

And make sure jumping and vision are both at 68 cap, minimum.

Height and towering man is enough, train jumping max, i wouldnt go to 68 with it. Train it to 1st cap.
Vision is good between 60-68 for me.

I suppose Mariner is a jumping NT. He had 43 pd in pro last year, 25 in world the year prior, but this year in world hasn't been going so well. (55 jumping, 9 swat ball, and 15 in towering man.) It started out with me only training jumping late in his career, but I decided to see how effective it could be. I'm fairly happy with the results, though there are many things I would of done differently with the build.

I'm trying it with my DT, he's 6'8 and it's being built to be a PD machine.

Currently, he's sitting at 69 strenght so, as adrianpeterson69 said, he won't be pancaked and 21 jumping, training that.

No PDs in the 9 (preseason included) games he has played so far, though, but I assume it's because teams at low levels don't pass much.

Well I figure I may as well go for it. So I'll try and make a jumping DT as well. I'll post how he does in the coming seasons. It'll be a while before I actually get to the jumping portion of his build, so be prepared to wait 3 or more seasons before you see how he does

Don't stop at 69 Strength though. Get his Strength to 80 right off the bat then get Agility into that range if you want to avoid being pancaked by O-Line. My current NT/DT did that and it's paying off at his current level now. I just started training jumping last season so it's only a 20 now but it'll eventually be around 40 to get towering man. He should be able to get some PD's being 6'6 even though I wish 6'8' was a option back when you had to roll a player.

I have a DE with 61 jumping but I am more interested in the effects of diving tackle at 10.

Yeah, I know.
I'm going to pump up strenght to 81 and then agility to 77, while training jumping.

That sounds close to me

Might as well do it last though...no ALG's to JMP means that you are only hurting yourself by worrying about it any time before lvl 35

What about long reach?

Overall, I feel like this is something to add on at the end of a build as a nice frill

All this talk of DTs with 60+ jumping and Towering Man/ Long Reach makes me want to run the ball right up the middle

Go ahead and slam headfirst into all those D-liners built for run stuffing
