He´ll be level 48 after I boost. He plays LDE in a 4-3 system with good talent all around him.

He does well against equal competition, although he does seem to be pushed a little backwards when the TE and ROT gangs up on him. Very rarely gets caked.

He is at 88 natural agility and 84 natural strength. I should probably have capped strength before agility, but that´s how it goes...

My question is this:

According to my calculations, I will have enough SP´s to do something like this:

- Vision to 60

- Tackling to 74

- Speed to 68

Remaining SP´s will be spent on SA´s something like this:
Containment tree: 2-4-6-0-0
Pass Rusher tree: 1-2-4-0-0
Break Through SA: 5

Would it be better to take speed to 74 instead of tackling, or should I even consider taking all three to 68 instead of one of them to 74?

Or should I perhaps ditch some of the SA´s and take two stats to 74?

speed to 68+ would be ideal.

I´d love to take speed to 74 to be honest. But that would be at the expense of either tackling (to 68) or vision even lower than 60 which isn´t a good idea I think. I´m not sure 68 tackling is enough, even with around 120 strength (with EQ) to consistently take down powerbacks though.

vision and tackling to 62+ should suffice. You're a DE.

Doing that would allow me to take speed to 77 while keeping the SA´s described above. I´d most likely need Sure Tackler and/or DvG though.

Thanks for the input!

I don't know how the sim will change regarding vision... but in my personal experience anything more than 68 vision may be overkill. You should with the ALG changes take care of vision and tackling before you take care of speed.

+1 on tackling for sure. I have been running a agility/speed build on power setting with tackling at about 60 for several seasons and miss very few tackles. Don't waste points on Sure Tackler.

My totally unscientific opinion is that taking vision to 68+ can synergize nicely with JTS and the FS.

Sounds like I am the only one that likes tackling around here
It´s not so much the missed tackles, although that plays a large part as well, but also the increase to tackling radius that appeals to me. I have seen DT´s with high tackling being engaged by a blocker and still make the tackle on a dot rushing by them, and I think this is because of the high tackling.

But since I am far from an expert on DE´s I´ll take your advice and 60-cap vision next and then take speed to 77. We´ll see how it goes I guess.

I appreciate all the feed back.
