Seasons over. Here's some free knowledge for the pee-wee masses. If anyone else cares to share some builds to help people get better at pee-wee dotball, by all means do so.

Two of Cascade Surly Goats players.

Ice Cold QB - http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=2088136

Daniel Tosh CB - http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=2094435

Ice Cold was an experimental build. He was particularly effective on curl routes and other stuff where the ball needed to get there quickly. Used -50 bullet/ -100 open man settings. I'm questioning the value of pump fake, it only really gets done 1-2 times per game with vision this low, so if I were to do another strength QB, I'd probably skip on the Pump Fake SA, take Vision over 40 instead, and maybe confidence to 30. I do like Pocket presence and tight spiral still... so probably would keep them in the build to some level, but not sure how high. As a side benefit to the build... Ice's throwing mechanics were really good with such good strength and decent agility. He also occasionally just laughed at a CB or SS blitzer as the fell to the ground next to him on a sack attempt due to the strength. His sack totals on the league leaders list in gold were fairly absurdly low due to the faster throwing motion and occasional swat-down of a blitzer.

Tosh in particular is a great build. There was a discussion earlier this season about how much vision you needed to avoid a pump fake. The answer is at least 45 to minimize the effect when they happen... and at 50 like Tosh, The words pump fake only pop up over your head like once all season... and you don't even bite on it then. In the championship game, Tosh only had one pass completed on him all game long. He didn't have alot of deflections or tackles this season, but it's because teams simply didn't test his coverage much at all.

If you want to build a great pee-wee cover corner, Tosh's build isn't a bad place to start. 75 speed/50 vision are mandatory IMO.

Anyhow, these are two Pee-Wee Gold championship game dots. We lost the game, but the builds are nonetheless sound... mostly

Good Luck fellow Pee-Wee peoples in your dot building for next season.

I think Bort nerfed the passing game thus limiting the effect of pump fake about week 13 I think it was. It was like day and night watching my team play on a Thursday and then Friday on it was garbage for my team. Nothing changed either for the team or builds. It was like someone flipping a switch for us,

yea, I wish I hadn't committed so heavily to pump fake as I did. It really did seem tuned down there towards the end of the season.

It's still lethal though, even late in the season. Both those are from the Pee-Wee Gold Championship. One of them is even Ice Cold with his 25 vision. I think that's the only time he got one off in the game. I still believe pump fake is worth it, just not on a QB that lacks enough vision to get it to fire more often.

how much vision do you think that you need? I was able to boost both my QBs to 14 and still didn't feel like I had enough points to have enough PF and Vis....

A later in the season experiment I did with my Qbs, I have a few.

I changed tactics on the non playoff Qbs or when they were done. What I found out is the HB pass doesnt work well for the Qbs set to Lofty side Both had open man set to about -50 to -25'

QB1
Bullet ------------------------Balanced ---------------/-------Lofty
.................................................................................<75>

HB passing was horendous. WR passing over the middle (Slants, TE in routes) were good FB passing was good, Come back and deep routes were aweful

QB2
Bullet --------/----------------Balanced ----------------------Lofty
.....<-100>

HB Passing was perfect, Solid deliveries, no dropped balls
WR passing on slants very fluid
Wr Deep Passing hit and miss. Some nice connections but you could tell on the dropped balls the Wrs couldnt hold on
FB passing was aweful

I'll agree with LE for the most part here.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=2100612

I had him set to about 60-65+ (Lofty) all season. TE/WR routes for the most part were good, few drops. Passing to the HB's was horrible for sure. Very hit or miss though.

I'd go with something like 70 throwing/50 vision. You could get 8 (9 with CE) in pump fake like that. Even get confidence up to 30, but you'd be struggling with other stuff then like stamina strength and agility. 25 confidence/25 strength would be easy to get. Really, with ALGs on vision on a pocket passer, you could even go for 55 vision. That type of QB could be set to some lofty setting and try and bomb out some deep balls to successful pump fakes.

Alot of it ultimately comes down to the AI with a QB though. You can build for certain stuff, but if the OC doesn't set the gameplan to use the QB the way he's designed, it doesn't matter much how well you build him.

Ice Cold was used mostly for quick strike passes on comebacks and slants. The strength and high bullet worked pretty good for that stuff.

Yeah, I pretty much never found a setting that would consistently complete Screens. Pretty sure that is just a crap play until Bort does something with it.

Not screens as screens never work. I am talking about HB Flat route passes. Like the I Flare etc

You probably don't need any where near that much in Pump Fake for PW. 3-4 points is more then enough to consistently get the job done I've found.

All the QBs on Cascade have 9+ pump fake. Well, all the passing QBs that is.

4 works pretty good early in the season though.
