When should my level 33 DT start looking for AEQ? And what would be considered a good piece to look for? (i.e. 3 attr pts/% piece very good? 2 pts/ SA good enough?)

You want to find a +3 attribute piece with nothing else attached.
If not that you want to find a +1 relevant SA with nothing else attached (hopefully a 30 BT one and not a 15 BT one)
If not that you want to find a % break block piece with nothing attached, hopefully 5% but 3% is ok too, you're better off just building a 2% then buying one.
After that you can enhance the piece to add what it's missing.
+3 attribute should be STR... you could settle for AGI, but you don't really want that, you want STR.
SA should be breakthrough, shed blocks, strong base, or something relevant... maybe even tunnel vision.

I agree with milehighshoes, but, still, if you get one +1SA +3 AGI piece, I'd vote on keep. The amount of BT you save is immense in these pieces.
