Blasting an upstart Reno team keeps the Spartans firmly atop the power rankings. Strong offense and defense make them the early season favourite to move up to USA A.

Last week: 4 High:2 Low:6
Dominated South Otto and showed a defensive ability that rivals OKC. Will their offense be able to keep up against the other powerhouse teams in the league though?
3. Fresno Fire 3-0-0
Last week: 5 High:3 Low:7
Continue to show they are no joke. Interesting match up against Reno next week between two of the more surprising teams in the early season.
4. Reno Marauders 2-1-0
Last week: 2 High: 2 Low:4
Got hammered by the Spartans. A loss may have been expected but the Marauders were thoroughly dominated. A good matchup against Fresno next week will show if Reno is contender or pretender.
5. Over The Rhine Red Dots 2-1-0
Last week:3 High: 3 Low:5
A shocking loss to a snakebitten San Jose team tarnishes an amazing offensive unit. Still a top contender in the West but may need to re-evaluate some tactics and rely just as much on game-planning as the skill of their players.
6. Little Haiti Voodoo 2-1-0
Last week: 8 High:6 Low:10
Pounded on the other OKC team despite a somewhat lacklustre offensive performance.
7. Florida Bulls 2-1-0
Last week: 7 High: 5 Low:7
Minden gave them a game but the Bulls played a good game and deserved the W. Brash WR Drill-Bit Taylor may just be as good as advertised, now leading the league in receiving yards.
8. South Otto Fragile Porcelain Mice 2-1-0
Last week: 6 High: 6 Low:9
Barely cracked the century mark for yards against the tough defence of LA. Need a decisive win against Minden next week to get them back on track.
9. Colorado Springs Flyers 1-2-0
Last week: 9 High: 3 Low:9
Fought hard against the Fresno Fire but came up on the short side of the stick. Colorado QB Thunderarm has been sacked or hurried almost 60 times in 3 games. If there was injuries in GLB, I think he’d already be dead.
10. San Jose Chupacabra 1-2-0
Last week: 13 High: 10 Low:13
Overachieving San Jose defense plays a gem of a game and upsets OTR. If their offense can start mirroring the D’s success, the Chupacabra may be playoff bound.
11 . Bay Area Bastards 1-2-0
Last week: 12 High: 11 Low:12
Good news: Got their first win of the season. Bad news: It was against Vallonia.
12. Boston Boogie Monsters 1-2-0
Last week: 16 High: 12 Low:16
Decided they were sick of being the wimp on the beach getting sand kicked in their face and rose up against Minnesota. May be hard pressed to go for two in a row against a Bay Area team that may be getting their ducks in a row.
13. Minnesota Americans 1-2-0
Last week: 10 High: 10 Low:13
Fringe team coming off a morale smashing loss. Meet San Jose next week in a game of two teams at a crossroads.
14. Minden Musketeers 0-3-0
Last week: 14 High: 14 Low:15
Played a good game against Florida. This is an improving team that will win a few games this year. Book it.

Maybe they’re just playing really good teams….or maybe they just aren’t the team that many thought they were. Seem to be regressing as the season goes on. Worse, they play the crosstown Spartans next week…. Hello 0-4.

Word is that Vallonia is getting comfortable in the basement of the conference and have set up a few nice throw rugs and houseplants. Seriously though, they should not be this bad.
