Texan's Preseason Dirty Fifteen

Note: the season starts tomorrow so some APVs will change. As usual my opinion means nothing, so just have fun and don't blow a fuse.

Last season this was heavily weighted to Naga (and rightfully so) but garuda looks more competitive this time. I don't normally include this many teams in my preseason rankings but it shows the league may be a bit deeper this season than last.

1. Krungthep Garudas (APV: 1018)
Owner(s): fool and tautology
Conference: garuda
Outlook: Back from another jaunt in the WL, fool has put together a roster to win it all again. They are the prohibitive favorites to win the Wok. The only team to win the Wok out of both Naga and garuda.

2. Blue Renegade Wino Smurfs of Funkalicious Labatt (APV: 1017)
Owner(s): bighookworm and Snaza
Conference: Naga
Outlook: The Blue crew has put together a nice set of agents and supplemented a bit this season for a run at their first title. Naga is pretty open this season but I would install them as a modest favorite.

3. Palembang Drunken Monks (APV: 995)
Owner(s): Boomy DTD and Texan DTD
Conference: Naga
Outlook: The other main Naga contender imo, the Monks also have designs on their first title. They are the A-Team of the Royal Family and should have the firepower to compete at the top.

4. Lucid D.R.E.A.M. (APV: 1023)
Owner(s): ijayarider and nakedpanic
Conference: garuda
Outlook: Lucid is always good but they look absolutely sick this season. There are a couple of teams that have the potential to keep Krungthep out of yet another Wok and this is top one in my book.

5. Three Kingdom Warriors (APV: 998)
Owner(s): datongw and Animalmother
Conference: garuda
Outlook: This is SEA's most famous team as far as those outside the league are concerned due to their extreme and sustained WL success. Last year was rebuilding time and they were still dangerous other than having no D to speak of. I assume they get that fixed this time and contend.

6. Semarang Red Bulls (APV: 994)
Owner(s): Sockamadic and pimpin_snoopy
Conference: Naga
Outlook: The top newcomers on the list aren't really new at all. They have the experience and talent to win a lot of games--and they will.

7. Knights of the Round (APV: 1022)
Owner(s): robbi_knight34 and KamikazeHawk
Conference: garuda
Outlook: I don't really know much about these new guys but they have assembled a very nice looking roster that will win a lot of games and could even threaten to be higher with good planning.

8. The Tackling Dummies (APV: 988)
Owner: djaco and JorgeL
Conference: garuda
Outlook: After a meh first Pro season the Dummies went out and got better and not just with talent, but with coaching. Look for them to scare some of the presumed favorites.

9. Tibet Psychonaughts (APV: 1042)
Owner: kcfdx
Conference: Naga
Outlook: Ya these guys are getting pretty old but I docked the "other" Semarang last season for being old and all they did was win a ton of games. Tibet is too talented to ignore.

10. New York Empire (APV: 996)
Owner: CaptainUniverse
Conference: garuda
Outlook: I know this team has some people's attention over in lolgaruda. For good reason. I wouldn't sleep on Empire--they may have had a less than inspiring first Pro season but so do most teams.

11. Buffalo Rampage (APV: 950)
Owner(s): BLeonard and Joe Buck
Conference: garuda
Outlook: They may have the lowest lolAPV on the list but dammit this is Buffalo and they always get underestimated then whip that ass. I expect more of the same for a team that held its own in WL, almost making the playoffs a couple seasons back.

12. Portland Dirty Penguins (APV: 965)
Owner(s): Texan DTD and Boomy DTD
Conference: Naga
Outlook: Despite sending some players elsewhere for a good cause, recruiting went well and Portland is looking like a playoff team once again, although much younger than some of the top contenders.

13. Pa Dong Dragons (APV: 1008)
Owner(s): Voltron and LucaBrasi
Conference: Naga
Outlook: I have missed my old rivals from Pa Dong and now they are back, although under new ownership. I'm not sure how he did it but Voltron has assembled some nice talent that if pulled together could move much higher up this list.

14. Hong Kong Hustlers (APV: 991)
Owner: Epark88
Conference: Naga
Outlook: A good team last season, HKH is looking to take that next step to very good and I wouldn't be surprised to see an upset or two.

15. Apatity Awesome (APV: 990)
Owner(s): Sal Basss and Xcesiv7
Conference: Naga
Outlook: I don't know about awesome, but at least good. I can't say I know a lot about the AA crew, so I could be under or overestimating them. Time will tell.

I'd say that puts us about right for Apatity. We've pretty well cruised through the minors and AAA so the test every week will be fun.

Thanks for this, man

I actually noticed you guys look a lot stronger this season. I should have put an "others to watch" section.

We were pretty young in a lot of key spots last season, hoped we could at least make playoffs with it, but were aiming more for Season 16. We have deepened our team a lot in some of our weak areas last season and are looking to make a run this season. We will be in the playoffs this season.

Does anyone else think PDD will actually be able to make it to the top 15? With the other half of the stamina effect kicking in this season, I don't see any way they make it out of the first round of the playoffs, if they even go that far. 3 WRs, one of which is 479 days old... that's a major uphill battle.

I'm making assumptions they add 2 more, whether they are good or not.
