Greetings everybody, my name is RJ - those of you who have been around this game for a really, really, embarrassingly long time will remember me as the owner of the Spicewood Longhorns, formerly of USA Pro.
Under my leadership the 'Horns advanced from USA A7 to USA Pro in the minimum 3 seasons, winning conference championships all 3 seasons and league championships in USA A7 and USA AAA2. In addition I contributed to several other teams belonging to my friends and agents, amassing a decent number of trophies. Most of my background is in offense, although I actually do enjoy defense quite a bit as well. Special teams - as anybody who remembers my season 9 campaign - don't mix well with me.
What I'm Looking For:
As the thread title says, I'm mostly just looking to get back into GLB - initially just to see if it's improved any over the last several seasons, but hopefully to stay. I am not looking to start coordinating a team right away - nor am I necessarily qualified to do so. My goal for getting back into the game tactically is Season 16 - I feel this will give me ample time to familiarize myself with the various ways in which GLB has changed over the last several seasons, and to get acclimated to the community as well. I would be most interested in an OC or DC position, although the right HC job might appeal as well.
As a secondary concern, I have 45,000 flex points to spend - so anybody who would like a player or two developed could drop me a line as well (I'm open to any position, although I find offensive line extremely boring - and know nothing about building a kicker
).
What you can expect from me
First of all, I need to point out that I've been absent from GLB for quite awhile - but I do have a large foundational knowledge about how to write a solid AI, and a vast amount of building knowledge - which will most likely need to be updated.
However, since I'm not looking to start since season 16, I feel I'll have ample time to get up to speed and do a bang up job coordinating. What you can expect by the time I start is a top flight coordinator, on offense or defense depending upon your preference (although I would actually prefer defense - offense was my specialty but the lack of a play creator wore on me). I am very active when I am coordinating a team - which means lots of correspondance with all agents, both through forums and through PM.
I am not a big delegator - I'm usually mostly interested in throwing my weight behind one team and pulling hard for it. Because of this, I invest a huge amount of time into the team I choose to do tactics for. It's simply not in my nature to keenly follow the fortunes of several different ones. I am intensely competitive and once I identify myself with one team, that's the team I devote the most effort to. Because of this, if I agree to be your coordinator - you will be the only team I will coordinate for. Any other GM positions on my list will be advisory only.
My conditions
Activity: your team must be active. I don't necessarily refer to "forum activity" here - but teams with any players flagged inactive for more than 4 days will not be considered
Division of Labor: I don't like having too many cooks in the kitchen. If you want me to coordinate for you, I will be accountable to owners, co-owners, and head coaches as necessary - but I don't want a situation where I'm given seven subordinates and forced to come up with tasks for them. Also - nobody who I am not accountable to should have access to AI or Depth Chart settings.
Level of Competition: I'm not trying to come off as arrogant (most people who've played with me on this game would describe me as anything but) - however, there are so many teams now and so many leagues that it's all a big mess to me. To make matters simple, I would prefer to be PMd by pro league teams only. If you are NOT a pro league team but still would like me to work with you - please post here. I will check this thread regularly.
Thank you very much for your consideration, and I look forward to working with whoever hires me.
