str base lb or tackling specialist?

Depends on the build. Power tackler, DvG, Helmet Crash, Football Genius, maybe sure tackler, after that it varies more, jackhammer (is that gone now?), clutch, one of the new VAs, etc.

for a str base i would go

HC,power tackler, bull rusher, sure tackler (so you can play on power) if you blitz that LB alot go with pocket crusher also.

for a tackling specialist i would go

DvsG, HC, and power tackler, and stonewall

Do people use Natural Leader at all? I have Defense General AEQ on my guy, not sure the VA is helping though.

How about intimidation or is better for OLBs?

if you dont see any frowns i guess u can infer its working a little bit.

but to answer your ? i dont use NL. I only use VAs that i can noticeably see a difference in the replays.

i think its a waste of 15 VPs ( i could be wrong). im assuming of course that offensive players dont take confidence and stamina seriously anyway.

Your DC will hate you if you make Power Tackler you first VA. Unless your STR and TKL are really high, and you have FF% AEQ, and probably MT% EQ also, you should stay on wrap up tackle setting.

Power tackler gets you a few fumbles in blowouts and a bunch of missed tackles in the playoffs.

power tackler doesn't have anything to do with missed tackles. In fact it gives a bonus to making tackles behind the line of scrimmage.

true, but i think he meant if you use it to play on power. some people think if they have anough PT they can play on power and typically that leads to missed tackles.

the behind the LOS bonus is nice, but its still more of a supplemental VA to me
