Warrior General Games

Seriously. I even benefit from it from time to time but no way in hell should games be decided by special teams. A team is very lucky if they get a nice 40 yard scamper on a return in one game in any football fashion but to see game after game where a special teams have scored is just ridiculous, What are yalls thought on the matter? It seems most teams now start at the 50 yard line rather than the 20 or their own 35. I consider starting at your own 35 good special teams play but lately it's just insane!

I agree, games in PW gold are averaging just under 1 return (counting both kick & punt) per game. And that's with almost entirely very good teams and no CPU games where there can be outliers.

On kickoffs it does seem like teams start right around the 50 every time. I know they nerfed kickoffs; I wonder if it would be tough to have PW teams kickoff at the 40 or 45, just like IRL where lower levels kickoff from closer distances.

It's also pretty dumb how 80% of the people on kickoffs are irrelevant...they just run right up the middle each time and there is nobody there but the kicker. Kickers often lead the team in special team's tackles...what's up with that?

I have stopped punting the ball completely. I figure a 40 yard punt returned 27 yards is not worth giving up a return TD. We lost an OT game on a punt return already.

Somehow my offensive AI was turned off today and we punted 8 times giving up 2 TDs.

Hell the first quarter of my Gold game today featured 3 returns. Almost made me sick and we benefited form two of those. It's just stupid football IMO and then it seemed every starting offensive possession from a kickoff was on the 50. Touchback days are over I guess but man it's just not realistic at all.

It is a huge random factor that makes any team capable of beating another. In my gold team 2 ST TDs were scored, one by each team. My thoughts on the matter are don't punt or score and you only have to deal with one KR a game.

Don't even get me started on chip shot extra points. Kicking game has become a joke.

Even though my team deserved the W..... I must admit benefiting from 2 missed FG shorties in OT today was a bit LOL......

I got started in coordinating as a ST coach.

I have done it now for several seasons (7 I think).

My team typically does fairly well in ST (we are 2nd in Punts and top 10 in returns).

But, my true feelings were brought to the surface today when we scored a ST TD on SAS.

It was the only score of the game and it wasn't like scoring an offensive TD.

I think ST needs to stay, but be tweaked to be a little more realistic.

The offense should not be starting at the 50 so it only makes sense to move the kicking position up or adjust the kicking like passing was adjusted previously.,

I could see the K getting the ball to the 20 or so and being returned for 15 to 20 yards, so around the 35 or so would seem right to me.

Can someone tell me WTF my guys are doing at the end of the play?!?! Looks like somebody tilted the field while we were running!!!

Two days ago that returner would have started stuttering like a fat kid on pixie sticks, but with the change instituted a day or so ago, full steam ahead!
