I will not spend another dime on this game if these changes are implemented and I may just leave the game.

yeah, no crap. I just got done studying for my organizational behavior classes and now I come on here to see that my game for fun takes more studying than anything else.

I went through the coaches thread. I don't understand the need. They need to worry about making players last longer in the form of actually playing longer. My first players are coming on retirement and it's horrible how much time and effort went into them for so little peak time.

Seriously, plus the new financial system is just whack, and the training system doesn't need to be enhanced at all. It's fine as it is, no reason to complicate it.

I hope they don't try to make them all active at once, that would be a nightmare.

Ditto.

I don't really like the idea of coaches, but I do like how they will kind of let you customize the system you want your team to run. I wish they would just let you do that without coaches, but whatever.

Definitely need to hire a real CFO now though. It will be tough to figure out the optimal way to put all of this together, but we can all learn together. What can I say I'm an optimist, I think it will be fine after a season or so.

I'm pretty sure that's exactly what they are doing actually.

The only way Bort and Catch will return to listening to their customer base is when it impacts their financial livelihood. If you stop paying for flex and revenues are decreased, they will listen. Trust me.

Think about this - the more popular this game has become, it stands to reason the more profitable it has become. And associated with that has Bort been less and less concerned with the feedback of the player base.

To return the power, you simply need to vote with your wallet.

UCLA, you shouldn't leave. That accomplishes nothing. What you SHOULD do is play with house money. Use only the flex returned to you on retirement. Play a few seasons with numerous players and free flex, Bort will wonder where the money has gone and what he needs to do to encourage you to buy more of it.

This game's economy works two ways. Use it to your advantage.

Ya, that's more what I'm planning to do actually. I was just kinda pissed at first when I posted that about quitting. I will not be buying more flex though, and will be retiring about half of my players at least, so hopefully if lots of people do that it will get across. No more money from me, and less players on the market.

After taking what felt like hours to read over all the new additions I was initially against so much change, but after sleeping on it and looking over the details again I think I might like most of them. I've always liked the idea of the addition of coaches, which will just give you something to do with your retired players. The new training system probably wasn't needed, but it appears it will be much simpler to grasp once the interface is in front of you. And as far as the financial changes go, yes they are numerous and overwhelming, but as an owner I look forward to it. For too long once a team had its stadium completed all you did as an owner was sell tickets and dole out equipment money as you made it. That was the financial system in a nutshell. Gee. These new changes to the finances have the feel of a true sports management sim, which is pretty cool to me.

I just hope these will truly be the last major changes to the game like Catch mentioned. I think if we all just get over the initial shock and figure out the sky isn't falling then we'll come out the other side hopefully enjoying a better and more well-rounded game. At least thats what I keep telling myself......

After coaching since season 2 I truly feel lost now. Every season has been adjusting to new changes, which has been frustrating, but at this point I feel completely lost. There are other teams succeeding, so I realize others are doing things "right", but this is how I feel. FWIW.

I think the game should have focused on the sim and found a constant like 1 year ago. Paying for an eternal Beta game seems silly, which is why I haven't bought flex in a long time and will just be riding out my retirement points.

The sim is fine. The issue is fun and the ability to bring in new players and have them compete. There are only a handful of people who can actually play this game well (and that's no knock on anyone, most people have jobs/lives and can't dedicate the time it takes to be good), and it's killing the interest. These changes may not add to that, or they may, but I can already tell they don't address that issue.

At best, the time commitment stays exactly the same, at worse, it increases. When the best case scenario for the changes you're making doesn't address the most pressing issue, one wonders why the changes are being made.

Best quote in all the threads about the changes. http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=3946763&page=42
