Strength to 73 or 77
Carrying to 73
Speed to 73
Agility to 73
Confidence 61
Stamina 61

Train Vision to 40 at some point so that you can get Short Yardage Monster. You don't need any more than 40 though.

So when should i even add points to special abilities and stuff?

You prolly shouldn't add SAs til about level 50 or so

Once all the attributes are done, you move onto SAs. It likely won't be till close to, or after, level 60.

Make sure you get 2 pieces of Break Tackle % AEQ as well.

I would split his EQ between Strength and Speed.

If you can end up with:

90-100 Strength (+EQ)
90-100 Speed (+EQ)
70-73 Agility
75+ Carrying
61/61 Stamina/Confidence

He will do well if he has a good line.

Edit: Get vision to 40 and leave it there. I would run on -85 to -100.

Thank you all for the responses you've all been quite insightful and have given me a good guide line to follow!

A bit lengthy response, I know... but I like to elaborate on potential builds to be as helpful as possible.

First, I mean this with all sincerity, but retire and start over. As early as your player is into the build, I'd recommend taking Strength to the max and the remainder into Carrying with the initial SPs given after choosing the archetype (not the 15 remaining afterward obviously)

Once this is done, here's a general end-game scenario (not taking into account ALGs)

Attributes:
Speed - 77
Agility - 68
Strength - 77
Carrying - 73
Stamina - 61
Confidence - 61
Vision - Train to 48+
Catching - Train to 40ish at most.

SAs: Hold off until Level 45+.
End game scenario (including AEQ):
Lower the Shoulder - 10
Stiff Arm - just as many as it takes to get Power Thru to 10 with AEQ
Power Thru - 10
Spin - Consider getting a piece of AEQ with it depending on future changes to its firing rate, etc.
Quick Cut - Perhaps dump a few points into it late into his career.
First Step - Surge is better at this point, so I'd probably stick with that instead.
Surge - Keep an eye on this in future seasons, but this looks really promising, particularly for PBs

VAs:
The big three are Bruiser, Short Yardage Monster, and Shed Weight. A few of the more minor VAs to consider for PBs, consider Tenacious, Clutch, RZF, and maybe one or two points into Goal Line Back depending on how many goal line carries you're getting.

EQ:
Consider a 50-50 or 75-25 split between Strength and Speed. Make sure you stay consistent with intense training until 60+ so you can get four pieces of AEQ upgraded.

The four pieces you'll want to fully upgrade are: Power Thru, Lower the Shoulder, and two +BT% pieces.

Punishing runner? With the changes to stamina and morale this would be killer VA to have, even though it's already a good one right now. Shed Weight is garbage, very seldom are tacklers dragged at this point.

I think it's impossible to fully upgrade 4 pieces of AEQ on a boosting player. And I know I'm in the minority here, but I don't think much of SYM either.

Holy jesus man have you EVER built a successful power back or is this all theorycraft?

First should be Strength to 73. You won't need more than this cause of ALGs.
Then, depending on if you want "The Bus" over Jim Brown, you take carrying to 68 natural. Again, ALGs over his career make this very nice.
Speed to 61
Agility to 61
Speed to 73, maybe 77
Agility to 68
Vision only train ever
catching is worthless
Stam/Conf 61 for sure, can get a LOT of this through training as well

VAs: Bruiser and SYM are your only 2 must haves. Steady Grip is extremely nice for high carrying backs (which as a PB you should be). Those 3 are clearly the tops imo. Shed Weight is shit, nobody gets drug. Goal line back and RZF are equally worthless because they are far too situational. Tenacious can work well, like someone else said Punishing Runner could be extremely nice in the current sim state.

You can never have 4 pieces of AEQ fully upgraded unless you somehow roll the 4 pieces you want all in a row. Even then it's doubtful.

3 pieces tops. For a PB I'd suggest:

2 bt% pieces (ldo)
1 SA of your choice (LTS/PT/SA/Spin)

SAs:

LTS/PT/SA - All are great get them all high. PT is the best, should be 10 or 11 after eq LTS about the same, Stiff Arm can be lower but don't discount it as it helps AVOID tackles as well as break them. Get SA above 6 for sure, maybe 8.

Spin - Don't let anyone fool you, Spin is still an extremely efficient weapon for a Power Back. You can either make a mediocre investment and get some natural points in it or just go the AEQ route. Either way, if your Spin is at 5+, you will start to see it firing fairly often and successfully.

Quick Cut is good for the random extra SP or 2 but isn't super important.

Surge is def good so far. Prob gonna get nerfed cause it seems to do exactly what it says it should

Clutch is a fantastic PB VA and the best #4 option imo. always seems like i break a ton more tackles on 3rd and 4th down. as long as you're on the same page with your OC and they know you have it and will make good use of it, you should definitely consider it when you go pro

You don't need to start over.

Where would i like to train my strength and carry before i stop and move on to another set?

Should i stop when BOTH are 73? or is there a soft cap i stop at?
