++++++++++++++++++++lardaddy’s mostly baseless, highly combustible W1 predictions++++++++++++++++++++

GOTW1
Speyside Whiskies @ Baden Bandits: Couple of AAA #2 rivals square off here in what should be a p entertaining game. Baden’s always sported a nice pass attack; Speyside counters with solid game-planning day in and day out. Very tough one to pick here but Imma pick Baden by a nose, based solely on the chem. advantage. Baden by 3.
Final: Baden 34-28

GOTW2
Black Sea Raiders @ Belfast Brawlers: Belfast brings what I remember being a p potent pass game to Pro ball, while the Raiders bring one of the younger rosters to the table. I’m as much a believer that builds > levels, and I expect the Raiders to contend in every game they play, but they’re probably a season away and will come up just short here. Game may go to the wire. Belfast by 4.
Final: Belfast 37-17

Lyon Winemakers @ Tulsa Doom: Two very talented teams here in what should be one of the better games in W1. Both teams are very deep (4 HBs on the Doom!) and I know from previous experience both possess talented coordinators. I want to pick Tulsa because I think their secondary matches up well w/ Lyon’s WR corps, but that Lyon team looks awfully strong, plus I’d feel like a homer (I’m an Okie). The preseason W4 result doesn’t help Tulsa’s case either, tbh. Lyon by 9.
Final: Lyon 49-34

E-City Mercenaries @ Munich Keggars: I almost made this one another GOTW as I think it’ll be p close, and tbh I can’t really give a reason why I didn’t. Maybe I just don’t like you? So there. Anywho both teams looked like they’ve had a little bit of turnover, both teams are p good defensively and above-average offensively, and both have good depth. Imma give the edge to E-City, only because I think their slight level advantage will be the difference. Although tbh I could be swayed to Munich’s side were they to give me some beer. E-City by 6.
Final: E-City 33-21

Hamburg Parrots @ Parma Panthers: The Parrots and their pass-catching HB extraordinaire Slow Roll head to Parma to open the season. Imma go w/ Parma here for two reasons: one, they appear to have most everybody back from what was a very, very good team last season; and two, the Parrots are a little thin at LB and are still rebuilding their chem. Parma by 20.
Final: Parma 97-30

Dresden Demons @ Italians Stallions: Similar depth on both squads but I give the edge to Dresden mainly because of superior game-planning, the Stallions lower chemistry -and- a very stout Demons ground game. Dresden by 17.
Final: Dresden 52-3

Black Hand @ The Evil Empire: Last season’s AAA #1 champ brings a very talented, deep team to The Death Star (hope you like our new curtains - we redecorated). I expect a really tough game for my clones, and think this could be a tremendously good defensive battle, but at the end of the day I expect Evil to prevail. Otherwise we just wouldn’t be evil. Plus I’d have to change the name, gut the team, post a rambling, stream-of-consciousness diatribe on the public forum about how terribly fucking broken the fucking sim is, then RAGEquit forever... well, you get the idea. Empire by 13.
Final: Evil 64-0

Warsaw Wolves @ München Zeebachs: I suspect Warsaw’s been chomping at the bit to get back to dot ball after last season’s early playoff exit. Facing off against last season’s AAA #2 champ, who’s riding a 10 game win streak, would be a tall order if not for the significant level/VA advantage the Wolves possess. May be a tough season for the Zeebs, but I expect them to challenge for the top spot next season. Warsaw by 17.
Final: Warsaw 46-13

LUX Borg @ Stockholm Meatballs: One of the most loltalented (see above) teams faces one of the least here. The balls look improved, but the Borgs look like a legit contender in Alpha. LUX by 50.
Final: LUX 192-0

Seville Golden Eagles @ Bath Killer Bees: Seville looks like a better team than last season’s 4-12 group, but not so much that I expect them to get by Bath here. The Bees’ chem. may hurt them a little bit in the early going of the season, but I’d be surprised if they weren’t near the top of Zeta at the end. Bath by 13.
Final: Bath 49-16

Bjelasnica Red Star @ Toro Toreros: Toro look to befuddle the visiting Red Star with their 5 CPU FBs and 2 CPU TEs. Sure, Freddie and razor like a good sleight of hand as much as the next guy, but I don’t think they’ll be fooled here. Bjelasnica by 28.
Final: Bjelasnica 59-30

Rome Arcani @ Fareham Demons: The Demons appear to have put in considerable work on the recruiting trail this offseason and look to rebound from last season’s long road. The Arcani should listen to them for pointers on how to endure; with only 15 defensive players on the roster, they’ll struggle this season. Fareham by 40+.
Final: Fareham 96-27

Boston Punks @ Belfast Commandos: Boston’s youth will be no match for the Commandos, Belfast’s lack of a SS notwithstanding. Belfast by 60+.
Final: Belfast 115-12

Mississinawa Valley Blackhawks @ The Legion: Meh. Legion by 255+.
Final: Legion 186-10

Naples Purple Nurples @ Rome Titans: Double Meh. NPN by 255+.
Final: Naples 407-0

Alpine @ Burned Out Falling: Triple Meh. Too bad Alpine didn’t draw somebody worth a damn so we could see what USA Pro’s all about right off the bat. Alpine by 255+.
Final: Alpine 417-0

xoxoxo

Well we've never beaten Speyside in a game where it counted but I wouldn't mind if your predictions are correct.

We're really looking forward to that game and we might be a little closer than in the past few seasons - but I doubt that we're close enough to actually beat them.

We're still getting over the hangover from losing in the playoffs last season. Based on our preseason i hope you don't beat us by 20.

Nice job Lardaddy.

When the Commandos have one of the most consistent DCs in GLB in Welsh, what do we want with extra SSs?
